The former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Sjngh, was an erudite scholar. He is truly the architect of India's economic renaissance. With the opening of the Indian economy as a market economy, India could achieve a lot and become a global power. Unfortunately, the government, which succeeded him, couldn't do anything worthwhile for the country, which resulted in huge unemployment and poverty. Unprecedented price rise resulted in extreme hardship to the middle class and poor. Dr Manmohan Singh was an economist of international repute, and his views were respected across the globe. During his tenure as the PM, he never shied away from meeting the press. He could handle any questions put to him. He was a man of profound wisdom. His foreign policy was very successful. His political opponents were unkind to him. But, he kept his cool. In death, people start feeling his loss. He was very simple but mentally strong. The legacy left behind him is quite remarkable and enduring.
