India made Pakistanis regret partitioning till 2014. Now India has strong communal forces. Muslim vote is very low and communal leaders can win without their vote. Hence at this moment secularism has taken back seat. There will come a time again when secularism will rise, maybe 5 maybe 25 years later but it will definitely come because secularism is the correct way forward.

As a viewer from Pakistan I watch your videos sometimes bcs they present unbiased view point but clearly portraying Jinnah as the villain here goes on to show the bigotry some of the most sensible Indians will not be able to get over. I have not read the book but will be interesting to see whether the book portrays Jinnah a villain same as in an INDIAN tv show. Jinnah was just a leader of minority and trying to safeguard their rights. He foresaw that the two communities can not live together and that did not mean that he wanted to promote communal hatred rather it was about realising whether coexistence is a pragmatic option or not, which time has proven that it was not! This whole story shows how one man's resolve defeated all those who wanted a minority community to somehow coexist with Hindu majority India. At the end of it you realise how brilliant a leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah was. Obviously he's going to be a villain to Indians but because Jinnah was our Quaid, we to date never see Gandhi as the villain. And that is the difference between the people of these 2 countries basically!

I am going to watch that series you mentioned, but I have a question as in why, anyone who is from India explaining history, represents Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a power hungry politician? Why portray him a villain? In our books, Mahatma Gandhi or Nehru Gandhi are not villains, they are politicians focusing only on Hindus but not power hungry politicians or evils. You have UPSC and we have FPSC. I have also heard UPSC recommends not to study India-Pakistan history from Pakistani sources and FPSC recommends not to study India-Pakistan history from Indian sources. Which one of us is teaching wrong History?

I read history from Sheikhar Bandopadhyay ... and in this timeline's section, even prominent Pakistani Historian like Ayesha Jalal are quoted... No one here stop anyone to refer any historian... and Gandhi and Nehru were not hindu leaders they were centrist , prominent Hindu leaders were Veer Savarkar and Shyamaprasad Mukherjee.... Sad reality of Pakistan is that your country is the only country based on religion(except Kosovo which India don't recognise)... hence there is compulsion to your Academia to justify that single ideology(no matter it was right or wrong)... But a true student always understand there is no black or white, there are shades of grey(to understand that you need to listen arguements from all side and then made your unbiased opinion )... And unfortunately, Jinnah was on darker side.

Before 1946 Jinnah demanded a separate state of Muslim in united confederation. Two States within one Confederation, even 3 states (Bagal) under one consideration, as United States of India. But Patel and Nehru's attitude was so Tough and dominating, that Muslim League changed their minds to demand for separate country. It is on record that Jinnah praised Gandhi Ji many many times.

I love my country Pakistan, I would do anything to keep the sovereignty of my country. The leaders back than made efforts its right for some and wrong for others. I know Dhruv’s interpretation was bit harsh when it comes to Quaid e Azam, but look at the facts not the interpretation. We can still do it, we can have our countries but can work as one unit like EU. India Pakistan has a trade potential of more than 500 Billion USD per annum. We don’t have to spend hefty amounts on defence. A guy from Lahore can live and work in Delhi and A girl from Indore can study in Islamabad. We are from the same land, our history, our roots, culture everything is same, religion should never be a problem, It was never a problem before or look and overseas Pakistanis and Indians abroad they live happily together. I moved to UK few years ago. Many of my friends are indians, many are hindu, muslims and christians. This mindset has thrown us to the back. I am being a muslim respect all other religions because that is what being taught in our religion. Mostly in Ramadan or Eid the security and administration are done by Sikhs and Hindus in the city I am living in and same goes when its diwali or vesakhi events, muslims are the one handling everything. When Germany, France, Poland, Italy can live like one unit after series of wars why can’t we? Lastly, I am maybe wrong, its just my opinion
