It’s amazing watching this, knowing what was still to come. And I’m not just talking about Michael Jackson’s “Thriller“ album. Unless I’m mistaken, the unnamed “ young producer“ Jones was talking to is Reggie Calloway. If this was broadcast in 1981, Calloway was about to take over the R&B and dance charts with hits from his group Midnight Star and later Calloway. Legendary encounter.

Yes, that “young producer” was Reggie Calloway.

Q's music is iconic. He created pieces that sound like they've always existed and he just introduced you to them. We Are The World, Thriller, his version of Fly Me To The Moon, etc. The universe isn't complete without them.

R.I.P. Q. I think you're en route to meet a mutual friend of ours named Benny Golson, who is probably impatiently waiting for you and timing the next gig's downbeat... just for you. Our resulting world is more than a bit poorer now.

Allah (God) says in the Holy Quran: (Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing)).
