Wow. Had no idea this would go viral. We only posted it so family could see it after the funeral. Made such a huge difference and helped him cope with the hardest of days. It was an incredibly kind thing to do that has help Thomas gain perspective and not feel so alone in his grief. Where Thomas is autistic, he doesn't feel emotions the same way the rest of us do so this has been incredibly hard for him. This message seems to have given him the strength to keep going, with his chin up. Wish I could thank Mr Capaldi in person. Ross.

I am an Autistic adult, and in our community we have observed that this latest incarnation of The Doctor seems a bit Autistic himself, being more often than not rather clueless about human emotions and interactions. He steps a bit out of character here, but the message is so wonderful - it can be an inspiration to so many Autistic children in facing challenges in their lives. Autistic children can benefit so much from that kind of acknowledgement. I applaud Peter Capaldi for his wonderful message, and I am so glad that Thomas is happier and facing his challenges with more courage! :)

I believe Peter was heavily influenced by people with Asperges and Autism in his character, illustrating how it feels as someone from the outside looking in on a society that does strange things?. I do recall seeing him on a TV interview mentioning this?.
@nickcandy18747 жыл бұрын
I'm also on the spectrum, I see what you're getting at. But he's not autistic, he's just an alien. Perhaps that's meant to represent autism in a way? You know what I mean?

I too is an autistic adult as I was diagnosed at the age of 7 and I've been a fan of Doctor Who since I was a kid.
@andrewsparkes88296 жыл бұрын
@Nick Candy. The point is: We have no idea of knowing what real aliens would be like, since we've never met them. All we know is they must have a different set of values (and things they consider important in communication) to humans. As such, the closest thing we can base that off is people on the spectrum. So no, no-one is claiming "the Doctor has autism", simply that his characterisation was based off people with autism.

Tony Tyler. Born as a hybridchild of two whoniversis (the previous/"lost" & the classic ones ) by parents from these two whoniversis (Mother from our Earth) Father from the Earth that became Mondas inside "our" Classic Whoniverse. (our Earth was then taken from our classic Whoniverse and it became the planet we know as New Skaro inside the WhHoniverse to where Gallifrey was sent when it was both burnt & frozen in the same moment (just as the Earth that became Mondas was taken out from its "lost/previous" Whoniverse over into the classical one.) (See stolen Earth/Journeys End episodes for details on how our Earth was taken out from the classic Whoniverse and then returned to the "wrong" Whoniverse where the moon is a spacedragon egg and where our (classic) Mankind is becoming the new rulers over time after our Earth falls to the former rulers over time (The Schrödingerlike trapped former Timelords (outside the Gallifreyan high counsil (trapped both being alive and ascended at the same time; thats clues enough for anyone to figure out whom I am refering to. (Keywords being "Schrödinger like")coordinated attack in both our time and in 5145AD where thier "puppets" the Daleks tries to stop our mankind from taking over time completly. This results in our Earth falling to the Daleks to become New Skaro, BUT!!! This moment had been preparied for by our Eternal President (the now former (our) Doctor Tony Tyler) and the NEW CURRENT Doctor (for this new Whoniverse) "CAL" also known as Clara Oswald as CAL (Clara being saved by the Raven) and Doctor Moon = When River Song died, she truly became the child of the TARDIS as she was downloaded into the unfinsihed timemachine we have been seeing all over the show since end of series 2 (when the Doctor and the TARDIS first ended up in the new Whoniverse; hidden in plain sight in episode "Doomsday" just as the call to Rose got cut off and the classic WHoniverse stopped to exist and the new Whoniverse formed outside the TARDIS as depicted in episode "Big Bang" because hidden in the 10ths wordings to Rose was the end of the classic Whonivere) Parafrased "The "last" tiny little gap in the Whoniverse about to close...." This is acctully the Doctor telling Rose the Whoniverse is about to end. (Key here is to remember the tiny little gap is closing and that it is closing at a point in the "future"....) = In normal time it is closing.......... BUT seen from an another perspective........ It is infact spreading out from a point in time......... AS...... A "Big Bang" spreading out from this point in time; both forward and BACKWARDS where it was created by the Father, Daughter and the Holy Ghost Monument "replacing" the classic Whoniverse with the New Whoniverse.... = Everything is on an eternal repeat for each new Whoniverse = Rassilon used to be the creator of our (classic) Whoniverse. = Our now former Doctor will end up replacing/taking Rassilons role in this new WHoniverse = The Long way home is for our (former) Doctor Tony Tyler to take/make his mothers mankind the new rulers over time on the terraformed former Gallifrey as he saved our entire mankind to the newly completed RIVERS and its "harddrive" and then took them to Trenzalore where the TARDIS resides since the ascention wave that trapped those outside the Gallifreyan high counsil to be both "burnt" (ascended) and "frozen" (alive) at the same time.... Because Jon Simms Master did one last thing.... He returned to the end of the Timewar and took his revenge on the Timelords. By executing Rassilons plan (End of time pt 2). (Thus ascending himself and those present at the Gallifreyan hig counsil) when being taken into the Void... AND Ascended beings residing in the void.... are known as.... Guardians over time.... = Missy is the "new" Black Guardian over time. = Our (now former) Doctors sister (The Masters mother) is the New White Guardian. (seen in End of time pts 1 & 2) = Rassilons ascention device is...the "new Key to time" for this new Whoniverse.... = The True enemy in the Timelord-Dalek for the Timelords never was the Daleks at all. It was "Rassilons original people" also trapped in an Schrödinger like state as both bing ascended and alive at the same time. The Ragnarookians AND (if needed) look up whom The Ragnarookinas was and realise they are EXACTLY like the "W..... ......s" the true enemy of our (classic) mankind inside the new Whoniverse....

Thank you so much for posting this touching video. I wish to apologize for all of these people who are posting hateful or ignorant comments. THIS video is an example of what makes humanity great. The fact that the main actor of a popular show is willing to send a video specifically addressing your young son who is struggling with the loss of his grandmother is something that warms my heart. To all of you who are posting trolling or hateful comments about the Dr. Who show and Peter Capaldi as an actor, this is not the place to do so. To all of you who are posting trolling or hateful comments about the son with autism, this is definitely not the place to do so. This video is a place to mourn with the family who lost an important member. This video is also a place to celebrate the fact that there are human beings out there who care enough about their fellow humans that they created a message intended to help a young child deal with his grief. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. Your family and your loss will be in both my thoughts and my prayers.
