Leaves only decay if they're generated as part of a tree; either when the world generates or grown from a sapling. If you place leaves, you don't need to worry about them decaying. Unless they get burned. You also need to wait for honey to be dripping out of the bee nest to be able to collect honey from it. There are also 2 different types of drops you can collect from a hive; beeswax which appear as honeycombs and are collected with shears, and bottled honey which you collect with a glass bottle. Bees will fly to flowers nearby the nest and become covered with pollen and then travel back to the hive. After this happens enough times, a new batch of honey will be created that you can harvest. I hope this helps!

Another note for decor (although with all the decorating mods you probably don't need it). Extinguished campfires, at least in the base game, can be used as shelves to store meats and potatoes- if you can cook it on a campfire, you can place it on a campfire which has been put out by a shovel, and it will sit on the wood slats like it's on a shelf. Good for pantries- I know people just store food in their chest rooms, but with a whole mansion you can probably hide a pantry away somewhere! Also, putting in my vote for more hidden passageways- behind paintings, under gargoyles, etc. What's a creepy mystery mansion without hidden passageways to nowhere?

For more dye; I don't know if it's a bedrock only thing but you should also try bonemealing an already-grown flower directly. It should cause something like 2-4 new flowers of the exact same type to spawn nearby, so there wouldn't be any luck involved in getting the color you want as long as you keep at least one flower of each type to seed the process.

Not to long ago an idea came to my mind. I think it would be really cool to see you play 7 Days To Die! if you don't know what it is, it's a zombie survival horror game the goal is to prepare for the 7th day, when huge hordes of zombies try to end you you have to explore abandoned epopaliptic houses and collect resources. i also think the game has a creepy comfy feel to it sometimes

Since it's possible some of the fires have been caused by lightning, why not build some lightning rods? Especially now that you've got a cool tower to put one on (although a few spread around is probably best, I don't remember what their area of influence is) I wonder if the leaves you place manually will change colours with the seasons, or if they'll stay the same colour as when they were "picked"? The house might change vibe with the seasons! Either way, I wouldn't be opposed to you building into/around trees (as you did a bit in this video); like a bridge that leads from the main house to a treehouse, or to a platform wrapped around a tree trunk which might act as a halfway point on a longer bridge, a ladder leading up a tree into a room built inside the leaves, stuff like that... Also, with the sconces, would shift-right-clicking with a candle work for placing them, if regular right-click is "flip sconce"? Or maybe you need to use torches, IDK And I think that Creeper explosion that happened off-camera and blew up that door was because a Skeleton was trying to shoot you as you went inside but hit the Creeper instead, aggroing it, and then the Creeper blew up on the Skeleton (near your door haha) I'm always late to these 'cause I never have time to watch the whole thing at once when they release, but I hope if you DO see any of my comments then they're still helpful; great series as usual!

38:36 For natural growth there are various distances for various trees, but if you're using bonemeal (and have a decent stockpile of saplings such that you don't need the leaves), the best way to grow trees is a single mass of saplings, bonemealed from one side to the other and then harvested all at once. This produces even better results for spruce, as you'll grow 2x2 trees in the process and make an absolute brick of wood.

You can waterlog leaf blocks so you don't need to really build a big containment unit for the water. Just place 1 block and water bucket inside it. smaller form factor will make it more effective and easier to build around. You also don't need the logs for leaves you placed yourself. they won't decay. :)

You can make a hidden mob-proof barrier with just carpets and signs. If you dig a hole or channel a few blocks deep, put a sign in the ground-level space, and put a carpet on the sign, it looks and acts like normal carpet but mobs won't walk over it. Useful for doorless doorways and fenceless paddocks

the thing when you grow things with bonemeal is about the flowers, there is a pre-made flower patter, it's like a flower map applied on the terrain, so if you use bonemeal and you get a yellow flower on a block, that is that block's flower color, you will never get any other color there. Each block has a flower color assigned. But you can just get grass instead.

Little late but: When it comes to placing water, or generally building, holding crouch before you rightclick is a vital thing. It prevents you from using the item in your hand on the block you're looking at. So in the case of your suppression system, it will prevent the stairs from being waterlogged.

you could always just place a slab or a trapdoor on top of the water to prevent freezing, you just need to prevent it to have direct access to the sky and it won't freeze, basically, it needs a roof and it's considered as inside a house

That’s such a great staircase in the spire; I would suggest that you could build an elevator for a taller tower. It’s not too hard, using water and either soul sand or magma at the bottom causes up/down movement. Soul Sand pushes you up through water, and Magma pulls you down. You’ll need more than one block of water, each empty block space needs to be its own (water) source block, and each floor entrance/exit needs sign posts to hold in the water. Hopefully that doesn’t sound like the ramblings of a mad man, but I figured you’re used to it.

Hey! Just a mod i’d like to suggest for winter in this series, check out the mod “Snow! Real Magic!”. It’s a mod that makes it so when its snowing in the world, blocks get covered in snow (Like fences, stairs, slabs, etc) And they melt away when it’s no longer winter! Just a small suggestion to hopefully make the series a bit more immersive :]

I have a couple of suggestions to make your life easier while still keeping to the spirit of the playthrough. For additional fire protection slowly replace bits of the house with polished deepslate, it'll look good with the dark oak and it''ll take time since you'll need to smelt the deepslate before using it in construction. For lighting inside the house only use candles, you'll need to constantly harvest wax from the bees to make them and you'll have to light them yourself. Plus they'll look good for the creepy vibes this house has. I'm also sure they don't give as much light as torches do. Like you said with the rug saferooms, these will make you life slightly easier while being resource sinks in order to accomplish them. So it'll help with making things a little less frustrating but will take both time and dedicated effort to implement across the house.

One you could just look over the edge and feel like something could be watching you from below. Also you don't need logs for the leaves in the fire supresion system. I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but you can dye sheep and all of their wool will be that color unless you dye them a different color. It'll grow back the same color. Just a tip if you don't want to use so much dye

A new mod to add to enhance the games looks would be distant horizons. It would also allow you to see further without much game impact and maybe find new biomes. Lastly maybe some animal mods to liven up the world. Chirpy's wildlife is good.

In hindsight, maybe watching this at 2:30 AM wasn't the best idea lol That aside, other people have probably already pointed these out, but I guess it probably couldn't hurt to mention them anyway just in case: Manually-placed leaves don't decay if I recall correctly While bottles can be used to harvest honey, the beehive/nest needs to be visibly full in order to do so Also, I'd always assumed that Endermen counted as "monsters" that prevented players from sleeping, but apparently not. Endermen only interfere with sleep if they're currently angry
