For mob spawning proofing you can also use glow lichen, it is found in caves and emits a very low level light, so it is dark but can prevent spawns around it

Dunno if anyone had pointed this out yet, but I'm pretty sure the tree chopping mod not working occasionally was because you were crouching. Sometimes those mods will disable themselves when you press shift just in case you need to only chop down one block at a time. Like for example fixing a misplaced log on your house without causing the whole thing to collapse.

You should build a grand library, like, multiple floors tall, and bookshelves, chiseled and normal, anvils, looms, barrels, anything you can think of. It would be an awesome long-time goal for episode 5 (Could be called "Endless Sanctuary" or something)

As your house expands and eventually curls into itself- and it looks like it's already started to in some places, you should consider forming a small courtyard somewhere. Like a small semi-hidden exterior in the midst of the mansion. Looks amazing so far and this quickly grew into my favourite Librarian Series. Thank you! :D

Librarian! Not sure if you know this. You can middle click (scroll wheel) your mouse when looking at a block to automatically move those blocks from your inventory into your hotbar. You have to have more of the block you want otherwise it won't work. It eliminates having to pick through your inventory for blocks you need when expanding your house.

It seems that your bees have left, you probably have to lead some to your hives again and then breed them. You can lead them by holding a flower or attaching a lead and you can breed them with flowers as well. Plant more flowers close to and around their hives for them to collect as well as for them to stay around. And you can keep them from leaving by boxing them in, so maybe build a bee house/room with a lot of flowers inside, maybe out of glass so you can see the bees and let light in (that large room at 41:00 would be perfectly like something i had envisioned before i had watched to that point) That will make sure that you won't loose them again that easily. Also they don't produce honey at night so if you find a wild hive it's best to collect it with silk touch at night, to get the bees includet. More minecraft bee facts: If you leave a campfire under the hive it will burn out the hive but you can prevent that by placing a carpet over the fire. Also bees tend to fly into open campfires and die that way. They also die from touching water repeatedly. They also often despawn or dissapear by getting lost when searching for flowers or flying over rivers and lakes and then dying by touching the water. Somebody i watched prevented them wandering off so often by removing all flowers five blocks from the rivers edge. A good way to place permanent campfires under bee hives is to dig a hole, place the campfire inside and then put a carpet over it. You can attach leads to the bees and chain them to their hives but thats not that nice to look at. Having bees around crops makes the crops grow quicker so maybe you can use that to your advantage, maybe in the greenhouse. Bees also tend to despawn a lot just in general so it's in general just good to build a couple of hives and stay on top of breeding them every couple of days to keep a sustainable bunch of bees around. I hope this information will help you with your re-bee-ting bee problems and will reesta-bee-lish your bee culture. >,'0^0',<

I'm far from a Minecraft expert, but I did do a little empirical testing and here is what I found: Mobs won't spawn on leaves, glass, half blocks, and snow slabs at least two slabs deep, (but they will spawn on full blocks of snow). My testing showed that mobs will spawn on carpet, but I also read that you can double carpet - put carpet on top of carpet. I was unable to make that work, maybe it needs a mod, I dunno, but allegedly, if you double carpet, the mobs won't spawn.

if you put carpet on top of string and leave a pit beneath it then mobs won't be able to pathfind over it, same goes for bottom half slabs over a pit. Its a bit cheesy but could make for mob "firebreaks" by placing them at doorways to prevent them following him, or for his saferooms he could use those and potentially trap a spirit or creature by making them land on it

Maybe you could dig up some clay and make glazed terracotta patterns with the checkerboard blocks! Might be a lofty goal but imagine how many random hidden rooms could be hidden within. leaving the signs around to remind yourself of the prime goal is a great idea! It's a really good storytelling idea for after this series is finished, which hopefully isn't anytime soon. Most efficient farming is actually a 3x3 with a water source right in the middle. Why don't you put a slab over the water source (flush to the ground) then put your light source on top of it? That's what I do. Gives you four extra farming slots. Then you want to alternate your rows of crops so everything grows faster.

You can water-log the slabs you are using for the floor to prevent fires from expanding from one floor to the other. You can also use water-logged stairs and slabs for the fire suppression systems. They cannot freeze (at least in Vanilla Minecraft)

The magma block didn’t work because all of the water blocks above it have to be “source blocks.” All the blocks in the lake are source blocks but because you broke a sand block above the magma block, the water that filled that space was not a “source block”. In other words the lower magma block just needs to be a block higher. Take a shot every time I said the word block. Edit: Not sure how those golden sconces are supposed to work, but I think if you have them flipped upward, you’re meant to literally place a torch on top of them by crouching. But I’m not sure.

Its called cold sweat, it adds a temperature system as well as things like hearths to help keep rooms warm, i think itd add another bit of challenge to the pack as you try to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. I really feel like it'd add another layer of makijg the world feel living, as well as some great atmosphere to the series.

Another episode of spoopy house renovation, yippeee🎉🎉🎉!!!! This series is so unique, I always look forwards to a new episode. I’ve seen a lot of Minecraft series over the years, and this one has got to be one of my absolute favorites. The dark oak wood/mansion vibe reminds me of the Pillager Mansions! Those mansions are somewhat randomly generated and often gave weird structures inside them (giant wool cats, weird labyrinths, indoor graveyards) and I highly suggest checking one out for some inspiration!

you could take a couple of cats and let them sit next to chests in the chest room. cats actually scare away creepers so they wont blow up your chests, though the distance this works at is not super big so it wont protect the entire house

Tbh the winter felt too short. It didn't even freeze over the lake. At exactly 8:50 if you go frame by frame with < and > you can see herobrine behind the creeper. Dissapears the moment he's fully behind the creeper. Spooky fucking stuff. Especially since it's not obvious even on replay if there was anything.

Since you are playing on forge 1.20.1, I can recommend a few mods to enhance your experience. 1. Enhanced Visuals (adds blood stains and dust etc. in reaction to the world.) 2. Drip sounds (self explanatory) 3. First person model (self explanatory) 4. Sinytra Connector (Can potentially make fabric mods work in forge, can be buggy with certain mods) 5. CameraOverhaul (makes camera movements much more immersive, gonna need the connector since it's out of date in forge.) 6. Bliss shaders (looks amazing, kinda heavy on performance though, and it's compatible with distant horizons.) 7.Extended Lantern (resource pack that makes lanterns have a 3d model when you hold it.) 8. Embeddium/Rubidium +Oculus(Greatly enhances performance, and allows most shaders to run properly) 9. Better Block Sounds (self explanatory)

The bees aren't showing up because you have the fires below them, the smoke disables bee ai until removed - mimicking the way it puts bees to sleep irl. You need to remove it when done, or put it out with water.

This is a stupid yet kind of neat idea: Literally just build Luigi's Mansion and have it just randomly placed somewhere within the house. Like imagine you're wandering the halls here, and then you just end up in the attic of Luigi's Mansion. That would be a funny, yet confusing and surreal moment. Actually no, here's a better idea: Have the different floors just randomly placed within the house. That way it isn't immediately obvious from the outside that you just put an entire manor in there.
