➡️ Second episode in the series on the historical relationship between Belgium and Luxembourg. On the menu: the centuries of shared history between the principalities that today make up Belgium and Luxembourg. This long period stretches from 1443 to 1795, and will only come to an end with the French conquest that preceded Napoleon's arrival! We'll look back at Charles the Bold's dreams of conquest, the institutions created by Charles V, the revolt against Philip II, the ravages of war on Luxembourg and Louis XIV's ambitions for the fortress-city, which was later enlarged by Vauban before the Netherlands came under the control of the Austrian emperors, before the Brabant Revolution shook the region, and before the French conquest of 1794-1795 soon gave way to Napoleon Bonaparte!
