stumbled across this by accident. And it's SO fun.

What's it from, you ask? Rice Krispies commercial -- my nomination for most brilliant 'round' since Frank Loesser's I GOT THE HORSE RIGHT HERE ("Fugue for Tinhorns"/Guys & Dollar). B&W commercial from the early 60s -- Gene Puerling in charge of the arrangements. He created The Hi-Lo's and The Singers Unlimited but started out writing jingles for radio & TV spots. This one was his crowing glory. He won a latter-day Grammy for MANHATTAN TRANSFER's A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square. But this is genius, based on Frank (Guys & Dolls) Loesser's FUGUE FOR TINHORNS a round for three singers that begins, "I got the horse right here, his name is Paul Revere" -- Frank who won an Oscar for Baby It's Cold Outside would have loved this -- probably did, since he lived long enough to see it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2e3eqauicmlebc&lc=z22fdjrh3ofiwrvfaacdp430ey5n2igrfxgyjqw2dulw03c010c.1587239879165852 Thanks for sharing, Scott Purcell. I recognized it right away as one of my favorite commercials from the early 60s, when I watched cartoons all Saturday AM. I didn't know the Puerling connection, but I'm not surprised. Thanks for that bit of info! I finally had a chance to give my own tribute to this commercial in an arrangement I did of WE THREE KINGS: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3rTmWaVprSYnck

I loved this commercial as a little kid. I must have had an inclination toward counterpoint. Thanks for the info about Gene Puerling.

Any chance you know where I could get the arrangement for this song? Been looking but can't seem to find it. Thanks!

I believe its a parody of the song 'How to Build a Quartet' if that helps

@@safrone Actually it's the best imaginable recreation of a RICE KRISPIES commercial from b&w small screen TV days. Please see my note (above). Thanks for your note, Eric Blum.
