alightened you should check out HusAar on Facebook. The extended tag so the tenor holds the note for like 40-50 seconds. And the lead, Yngve, is amazing!

That's a vocal technique trick, actually. Smiling (or raising the facial elevator muscles, in jargon) into the high note helps raise the soft palate and stretch the vocal folds.

Done it! The whole song, actually, and my quartet is kinda unconventional. Bass and Bari are pretty standard, but we have a Tenor 1 on our Lead line, and an Alto 2 on Tenor! We also did it like VS did it, putting tenor on the post, and MAN I've heard a post so well done!

@@joke5735 A tag is the last, climactic end part of a barbershop song. There tend to be a lot of held notes and cool chord progressions that resolve satisfyingly. In this song, I'd say it starts around 3:20. Another barbershop term is a "post" which is a single held note that stays constant throughout all or part of the tag. The tenor has a really long post on this song.

Thank you WIlliam Warren for recognizing the best kept "secret" this group of 4 ridiculously talented individuals has to offer!Jonny Moroni is without a doubt the best Bari I have ever heard. Just tune everything else and listen to him. Look, I do realize it is not easy to make such a statement among these 4 guys. They are all 'over the top' excellent and my favorites of the more modern groups, saying that with Dealers Choice as Number 1 of all time.Jonny, is just flawless among four flawless ones. Ok he's 101 percent flawless with 3 running at 100 percent flawless.How else can it be said?!That is the highest compliment to the 3 and a Gold Star added for Mr. Moroni. Now don't you 3 go pouting you hear? You are still unmatched this side of DC/Innsiders timeframe. Please note, that is from a looooooong time ago - I have the LP's and saw them both live. Let me tell you, seeing DC "live" is surreal. You cannot believe what you are hearing.Ok ok. That's the baritone, they're the filling that makes the 4 part harmony. Much of the time their job is to not stand out and to make everybody else sound better. Their baritone is quite good at his job.

Alot? the bari is the power of the chords. 3:12 to the end he arguably has the most important part. Sometimes the most important things in songs are things you dont even necessarily hear, but feel. This is why when trying to sing this back to someone its easiest to find and sing the melody or highest note. Doesnt mean the other ones dont need to exist, there is a reason he is furthest from the mic. Yup! When they perform it live it starts in B and modulates to C, whereas the album version starts in C and goes to C#.
