I actually met Tom in 1983. I lived in Dunwoody. That is right next to Norcross. we were standing in line at a convenience store and the cashier was having trouble. I could tell he was upset. I was about five foot six 120 lb and I said, "you sir. are a big man." He said "I'm a big man? What do you know about me? Who are you?" Now I had grown up on the street. Had lived a hard life. Was a construction worker hung out with bikers even the Hell's Angels once. But I have never seen death in somebody's eyes like I did on this man's face. He told me if I was ever within 100 miles of him he would know it and he would kill me. Then he said, "do you understand me!?" I said, "Yes sir. May I leave now?" With my hands out to my side and I headed for the door. I still remember him saying, "that's the smartest thing you've said yet! No that's the only smart thing you said!" By the time those two sentences got out I was already about five steps away hand still out by my side getting the heck out of there. I noticed his white Mercedes outside at the gas pumps. I wanted to know what car to stay away from as I got on down the road. I knew that one had to be his. It's sad that so many people try to disprove something great God does with silly lies. I am thankful that I met him and I know this is true. Pretty cool that we both became Christians. And then by chance as I went to see David Teems in concert Tom was there and spoke. By the end of the night I had remembered who he was. But he and David Teems were in a deep conversation so I didn't interrupt and tell him my story. I actually did tell a young man and his wife that night who knew them somehow about the story. This was in a church in Kennesaw. 1992-ish. God is really cool!!

I truly believe that Jesus put Tom's testimony in my life years ago cuz he knew that 1 day I would need it im a huge sinner like Tom & now I need Jesus in my life I've had 2 strokes & 4gotten alot things in my past but I never 4got about Tom papania story

I showed this story to my partner two sons who believed that they had gangster inside them and made up stupid names for their so called gang. I never wanted to tell them about myself and the people who were in my life in the past, but after having told my way of life and that's when we seen a changing in them. Thats more scary and real that anything, because our stories have become books and documentaries '"to close to home" still having doubts on my stories the next step was to fond my little note book and invite my mates over for dinner. They really appreciated me for this effort which has made them hard working and sensible men now. God bless

I spent a long time locked up & showing weakness is a big no no, &now that I'm older & have kids I never wanted them 2 see me cry but after hearing this I didn't care cuz I know its conviction I'm a South sider in California & 1 of the worst thing I had 2 do in prison was 2 tell a fellow south sider who was crying loudly after getting some bad news on the phone was 2 wipe his face b4 he stood up cuz again crying & showing weakness in front of other races is something that can get u killed in prison but lil did I know that man jus lost his 10 year old son & here I am telling him 2 stop crying & wipe his f-n face now I think about that & it huants me I recently lost a close friend & was crying like a baby I can only imagine how that guy felt 2lose a piece of himself while he was locked away he couldn't even go 2 his own sons funeral so now I show my emotions in front of anybody cuz crying don't make us weak it makes us human
