In this week's double-length episode of From the Rabbi's Bookshelves, Rabbi Elton introduces Midrash Rabba, the most significant corpus of stories or drashot expressing Rabbinic theology on the Torah, dated to the early to mid first millennium CE.
Rabbi Elton then examines one Midrash on Avraham Avinu's backstory, and provides his take on the lesson to be derived from this Midrash.

Hello, do you have to learn modern Hebrew to be able to read Midrash Rabba or biblical Hebrew ?

Ideally learn both but the Hebrew of the midrashic books is Rabbinic Hebrew, a mix of Hebrew and Aramaic.
