If it was passed down to us there wouldn't be 4395 opinions on 1 topic but thanks for trying rabbi.

"... The sound of Ridya as well. Ridya is the angel tasked with irrigating the earth, who calls to the heavens and to the aquifers to provide their water ..." (Yoma 21a) "... the depths cry out to the depths" (Tehilim 42:8). "Ridya" is the Aramaic term for a bull plowing a field; this angel is called such due to that which it resembles a calf in appearance "Rabba said: I have seen this angel in charge of water, Ridya, in the form of a calf whose lips were parted, standing between the lower waters of the deep and the upper waters of the deep." (Ta'anis 25b).

We need a medrash compilation with relevant commentaries on the page explaining if it is metaphor or the pnimious of it. In fact we need this on gemoras too, commentaries on the page abit like mesivta.

Is a midrash a Jewish Rabbi's commentary or interpretation of Torah?
@gravityfallscanada Жыл бұрын
It's basically Rabbinic Talmudic myths... A complete fabrication made up by the rabbis of the time...

You didn’t do the math, but I did. At 20 miles per day it would take 13,700 years, not 500 years to walk to the sun.

Very interesting....Pls indicate where in the Talmud can you find the description of the Demon, "Radio", or about the bird dropping an egg on a city and be destroyed. Which tractates and passages can they be found? This would motivate me to study this.

I was hoping that Rabbi Kaplan would touch on Midrash Abkir, since he spoke explicitly about a few other midrashim here. Would it be possible to do a video on Midrash Abkir in the future?
@samphonnetgamgee5625 Жыл бұрын
That's not true. Midrash are interpretations of Rabbis. That is why there are many different Midrash on the same topic, which even contradict each other.

I’m researching the life of Pharaoh, I cannot find anything substantial to suggest that he died in the Red Sea. This leaves open the possibility to confirm the Midrash story that he later became the king of ninevah, and led his people to believe Jonah. This would create a more reasonable story that God hardened his heart in Exodus to prove His power, making pharaoh into witness.

Do we know which pharoah he may have been?
@williamgoloboy30742 жыл бұрын
You have obviously studied this more than I have and I was wondering how the Midrash reconciles the view that Pharoah survives, as is completely possible based just on Exodus, with the verse in Pslams 136:15 "Who hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Sea of Reeds?"
@dcmurphy51572 жыл бұрын
@@williamgoloboy3074 I Looked at Pslams and concluded David had to hear about it from the book of exodus. I believe the Bible is the true word of God but I do not believe He would prevent David from making this factual error, if the theory is true. I considered that Psalm a secondary source.

I have a message that I’m sharing where I can, some may not want to hear this, but I ask that we stay polite and seek truth together. 😊 Love is an action. Feed the hungry, house the homeless, father the orphan, and protect the defenseless and vulnerable. Read the Word for yourself, not only relying on others for guidance. Pray for guidance.Yahushua/Yeshua - His Hebrew name who is usually called (Jesus) taught to keep the whole Word. Including the Law/Torah. Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [g]the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19 Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [h]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [i]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Read 1 John. John tells us that sin is lawlessness, and that we must keep the commandments. Trust in the atonement of Yahushua/Yeshua who is usually called Jesus, and keep God (YHWH)'s whole Word/commandments. Revelation 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Go to parableofthevineyard youtube channel for information about the bible and good bible studies. I'm in no way paid or sent by him for advertising. I just have learned a lot from his content. He's just a man who is trying to learn as well. :) Yeshua died so we may be resurrected to eternal life.....
