4 year old comment, but the issue with Smith seems to be derived from some elbow injuries he's suffered. He apparently doesn't even bowl in the nets. Still managed to snag a wicket in the latest Ashes series, so maybe he will bowl a bit more part-time now.

I remember watching that over, the exultation of snatching victory from the jaws of a draw haha. Felt for the two young men who got out and couldn't bring themselves to move, they were both obviously shattered. It's a cruel sport sometimes.

"plumb" refers to LBW not stumping... clearly you dont know cricket. also the symonds stumping wasnt out, as at the point that bails were dislogded he had part of his foot behind the crease. this is the same series where one of the umpires was later banned for being paid by INDIA and BCCI to match fix. get the facts right

Much more than a "batsman who bowled a bit", Clarke was an international-class left arm orthodox bowler in the classic mould, and very, very good at it. Had it been his focus, he could easily have made a career out of that side of his game alone. Even as things were, it's a mystery he was not bowled a great deal more than he was.

This was truly the final summer in Australia before the end of an era. With Warne, McGrath and Langer retirement last year this was to be the final summer of the remaining Hayden and Gilchrist with only Ponting left. The core would be gone but not before winning 16 test matches in a row!!
Umpires would have raised the finger anyway. Given the level of umpiring in the match. 😅
