Took a little searching but the the pop locking dancer is known as "Coolpockets," his real name is Paul Guzman- Sanchez and there is a documentary about him called The Coolpockets Story. Hope that helps dude. Also I think someone else may have already pointed out the guitar lead in this track was played by Dire Straits frontman, Mark Knopfler.

Mark Knopfler did NOT play on this track. Guitar work was done by Jim Cregan who was a long time collaborator of Stewart's. Cregan co-wrote many hits with Stewart, including "Passion", "Tonight I'm Yours (Don't Hurt Me)", and "Forever Young" (1988). Cregan received thirteen multi-platinum awards for his work with Stewart and together they have thirty recorded songs to their joint credit.

This song hits home with me in so many ways. In June of 1981 a few weeks after H.S. my wife and I took off and got married. We lived and grew up in Ohio. 6 months later this song comes out and we're living in San Antonio. A job offer took us to New Hampshire, Mississippi , California and back to Ohio. Through it all we raised two sons. I worked while my wife attended college. Almost 40 years later, I retired two weeks ago, my wife as a Masters Degree in Education and has been teaching for over 30 years. Life is never easy when you get married young without an advanced degree. We struggled a lot but never gave up and soon we'll be taking off for Phoenix.

Great Story but I am 67 and like Rod from London and I have only lived in 2 London addresses and just 10 miles apart. The first from 1954-1983 in Inner South East London and the second on the 9th May,1983 to this house on the edge of South East London and THe English County of Kent and I could not even imagine living 50 yards away :) Good Luck..

Saw Rod Stewart in the 2018 New Orleans Jazz Festival, filling in the spot that was supposed to be Aretha Franklin’s (he played at the Mardis Gras a few months earlier, which is how they got him onboard). He treated it like it was always his. He also gave his background singers and musicians some of the spotlight, one of the singers he dedicated the end of the concert to. The reason why was because it was her last concert with Rod before leaving to follow her dream to become a Broadway star. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, maybe even THE best one!

The main instrumentalist is now a Church of England priest, and is on British TV quite a bit, as a panelist on matters great and small, including classical music.
