What brave people saving these animals in their country and people outside the country helping. That man that crossed into the ear zone 5 times to rescue the dogs gives me hope for humankind. God bless the people willing to walk into a war zone to help animals escape the violence and certain death. No animal should have to suffer because of the evil of human beings. The sad part is that many will die because of the carelessness of humans or the violence of the war. It’s in my mind that people who risk their lives to save pets and other animals are not foolish but saints. And I pray that the brave people who help animals remain safe from harm. You are in my prayers everyday.

This is so heartbreaking knowing these poor animals are so scared and confused because they've been abandoned only so the owner can live and try to make it back to them,I understand that it's so hard to leave them behind but at least you know that you are coming back to them A.S.A.P. and I'm totally fine with that I am totally against the way that the Russian army is using them as target practice that's so cruel those poor animals they don't deserve this they didn't do anything wrong to be treated like that. The lady is right. Today, trains and busses need to make accommodations for pets. Think of their mental health n how much money governments will save by keeping pets and people together. Think about it. When running from war they take children, parents, friends and pets, nothing else.

As hard as it is to accept the fact is there are only so many trains and buses and only so much room on each of them so either the room is filled with peoples animals or it is filled with more people , if the room is taken up by animals that means people , including children , are left behind unable to escape , many ending up seriously hurt or raped or tortured or even killed .

Also, a pet on your lap or under your coat like most of the cats I've seen people carrying, isn't taking up vital space. No one with any compassion would begrudge someone bringing their much loved pet to safety too . That old woman has no one, just her tiny dog. The emotional support pets provide us in life & in desperate times like this is incalculable.

I tell you if I could get an animal or two I would take care of them until the families were reunited. I would know that I only had them until the families could reunite with them. When the hurricanes hit Louisiana so terribly many pets were dislocated from their owners, but we did have some people come in to help. I know it must give their owners great joy to be reunited with them and also does the same for their sweet fur babies. This is so damn sad and so damn wrong and I hate this war. And I despise PUtin for starting it.

Zoo animals are bred in captivity, many times to prevent endangered species from going extinct. They can never be released into the wild because they wouldn't survive. Sometimes they are rescues who can't be released for various reasons.

I am an animal activist and I’m heartened by the rescue efforts being put out but believe that this is a perfect example of why we should not be keeping wild animals captive for our entertainment. Animals kept in small enclosures live miserably. They want to be free just like the people of Ukraine and everyone else around the world. Zoos are prisons for creatures that never committed a crime except to be born. That single elephant has been on my mind since I first found out about him weeks ago. If he has not released to a sanctuary type situation he’s better off being euthanized. That’s the most humane thing to do with an animal that is very sensitive. We need to change the way we view animals. Friends? Food? Clothing? Slaves? Family?

IFAW has already sent at least 10 rescued Ukrainian Zoo lions to African sanctuaries where they can roam free . Some have gone to Polish Zoo's along with smaller animals. Also, they rescued a colony of Zoo monkeys, whose new home sanctuary looked like a jungle paradise on earth. It's incredible to me how many animal charities from all over the world are at the border helping & also entering the war zone daily to rescue pets & strays & to deliver food to shelters & get their animals to safety.
