Your quote from A.A. Milne at the end? "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think"? I dare say you've never been sacked from a job so they could put a printer where you sat (and because your manager just didn't like you) , or because you talked too much (because you were nervous), or because you fumbled and dropped too many tools? Oh, and then there's the time I stood up for a co-worker who was getting shafted and I spoke out. I've been treated less because of my Autism (undiagnosed for the first 44 years) all my life and, even when I try something new, like wood working, leads you to believe the entire opposite of what you;re saying. I continue to live because of my loving wife and extended family, my dog, and a few select friends who treat me as an equal. While "technically" this looks easy, its not something I'm ever going to try - the materials alone would bankrupt me, and that's even if I got it right on the first try (which is definitely NOT likely) This does look AMAZING, I just wish I had the skill to achieve something like this.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with me. I can't begin to understand the weight of what you've gone through, but I deeply respect your strength and resilience in facing the challenges that life has presented you with. The quote I mentioned is meant to inspire and uplift, but I understand that life has its complexities that can't be summed up in a single phrase for everyone. I'm truly glad you have a supportive network in your wife, family, and close friends. It's invaluable to have people who treat us with kindness and understand us. Woodworking, like any craft, has its spectrum - from simple projects to the more complex ones like the table I showcased. Please don't feel daunted by the scale or cost of this particular project. There are countless woodworking projects that require minimal materials and can be quite forgiving for beginners. I hope you find something that resonates with your comfort level, and brings you joy in the process. Again, thank you for your comment and for your kind words about the table. Take care.

I like your version of a river table. It's not so Mainstream as all the others. *But much more I like this workbench you created. That's really awesome* 👍

I just wanted you to know that I’m very impressed with your abilities- that table is absolutely gorgeous!! And you have way more guts than I do to record yourself making some thing like that mistake or no mistake it came out perfect. Congratulations on a beauty!! Please do more and inspiring the rest of us!!!! ❤🎉

Thanks so much! You know, sometimes you gotta embrace those mistakes; they make for a great story later on. Keep an eye out, there's plenty more where that came from. What's a project you're thinking of tackling next? Coffee solves everything! ☕

Jesper, I'm still working on my answer to your question from another video, but I'm visiting my Mom today and got to show her what you did here. Thanks again for including me. It was fun to share your wood-art _and_ WORD-art (the objective correlative-esque Milne-metaphor is such excellent writing) with her. She's a fan now, too!
@JesperMakes Жыл бұрын
That's awesome, Tim! Always great to hear when the fam gets involved. What did your mom think of the Milne-metaphor? 😄 And hey, no rush on that other answer. Family time comes first! Cheers! 🛠☕
@timstark3312 Жыл бұрын
@@JesperMakes She was impressed, for sure, and she thought it was nice that you included me. She's 82, a retired librarian, and it's such a blessing that she retired last year (!) and moved close enough to me that I can visit regularly and help out around her place (trimmed some branches, installed gutter guards & hung some curtains today). 😊 By the way, my woodworker skills are in early development, but I hope you believe my comments on your writing. My "career" training & experience are in literature (college teaching, ghost-writing, editing for multiple publishers, and my own speaking & creative work), so I'm claiming expertise in my evaluation of your multi-layered combination of the Pooh character symbolism and your own project story. Genuinely ingenious AND in a non-native language, to boot. Amazing. We haven't even gotten to the video editing element. Brilliant work. Much respect.

Tim, that's high praise coming from someone with your background in literature! Really appreciate it. It's awesome that you're able to spend quality time with your mom, especially with her being a retired librarian. Sounds like words and stories run in the family. Keep those woodworking skills growing, and who knows, maybe you'll be the one teaching me a thing or two down the line. Cheers! 🛠☕

Tak for video. I really enjoyed the project and how it turned out. It's the perfect blend of new and re-used, rustic and elegant. It was also a lovely surprise to listen to your narration and be reminded of my late father-in-law. It isn't odd that your voice is similar of course as you are both Danes, but even your humour reminds me of him. Maybe that is a Danish thing too :) I am looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I am not a big fan of river tables normally, if ever. Whilst I can appreciate the effort, design and construction I find the mix of plastic and wood to be wrong. So with that out of the way this video is without doubt, the best you have created so far. Your imagination must be like some sort of multiverse that can see all potential outcomes at the same time. This should not have worked, not in any universe but not only did you pull it off with a level of painful jaw dropping proportions the video itself was produced perfectly, aside from my usual contempt for river tables is my feelings toward makers music selection. Well you fucked that up for me too. We subscribers have waited a long time for a new Jesper vid and boy was this one worth the wait. I hope my sincerity comes across in this comment as I don't believe I really have the ability to express my thoughts accurately. You are a true inspiration sir

I have just read about the next 20 comments after mine, seems to me like you touch a nerve. Everyone feeling and saying the same thing. You are not just a 100 kilo viking, from now on I will refer to you as Odin.
@JesperMakes Жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, calling me Odin is high praise indeed! 😄 I'm stoked that this video broke through your usual feelings about river tables and maker's music. It's comments like yours that keep me pushing the boundaries and trying new things. Thanks for being part of this journey with me. Cheers, mate! 🛠️🎥

Sensational vid, and great storytelling, good to see something made going against the grain 😁 Would be a boring world if we all liked the same things, table and workbench look fantastic . A few floating blocks is much more preferable to a leaking form. I hope you got a lot of joy out of making the table and workbench, because I got a lot of joy watching it !
