I like how you turned a branch into something useful. Thanks for showing us how you did it!

Thanks for stopping by to watch the video and comment. This was a fun little project, but doesn't really get too much attention on my KZbin channel. I just like the idea of taking an old branch that fell in the yard and making something from it.

Looks great! Do you know how long the branch was down? (Drying Purposes) since the pith wasn't fully removed I was curious about cracking? Thank you again for the video nice work!!

Thanks for stopping by to watch the video and comment. I couldn't say exactly how long the branch was down. I know if came down in a storm at yy girlfriend's parents' house. Her father saved the larger branches for me in case I wanted to turn some pens, etc. Even after I got the branches from him it was several months before I ever did anything with them. In fact, I still have branches from that tree right now on my storage shelf. I haven't had any cracking on the cup thus far and it's been a couple of years since turning.

Thanks for stopping by to watch the video. While the cup has never actually been used for sipping whiskey, I did make sure to use a food safe mineral/cutting board oil just in case, and to bring out the color.
