I love how Ms Greenblatt cheekily strums the Crwth after reading the quote about the dead rising when a female plays it, with an original tune called "running around." ICON

If that is the one at 20 minutes in that is assymetrical, it has to be (gasp) the ugliest stringed instrument I ever saw. I play acoustic guitar and have an appreciation for all instruments though. It had a unique tone. I'd cry if I got that as a present. Lol. But maybe it would sell for a good amount so I could get one I like. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.

This is Debby's Pellegrina Pomposa 5-string viola made by David Rivinus who lives in Portland, Oregon. Having 5 strings provides all of the strings on a violin and a viola (C G D A E). Designed with ergonomics in mind the scale length between the nut and the bridge is the same as a 3/4 size viola so the player doesn’t need to keep their left arm extended as far. By increasing the widths of the bouts and waist as well as the length of the belly Rivinis was able to keep the same amount of square inches of vibrating wood as on a full size 16 inch viola. He designed a banked fingerboard which reduces strain but which is not made of ebony, but I believe a laminate similar to formica, which definitely lightens the load. He added sound holes to the extended bouts to allow more sound to escape. These are just a few of the ingeniously clever adaptations to the traditional design of the viola he has made. This is a very powerful instrument and sounds incredible with or without a microphone! ww.teacherofdreams.com/pomposa.htm ww.teacherofdreams.com/DesignConcepts.htm

I love the sound of the viola pomposa, plus its shape is, well, amazing. I find that I'm quite taken by the tune of Bultentans-- is there any chance we could hear it played on the other stringed instruments? (also the sheet music is kinda hard to find)
@@greenblattseay6395 Wow, there it is! Thank you! I can only hope I learn to play it as lovely as you do! Does it sound as rich and beautiful as it does because you're playing more than one string at once?

Dear Debbie Greenblatt, I just now saw you for the first time. The word "Wales" caught me, but you exceeded the word "Wales". I perceive that you've played in the symphony halls! You're wonderful! What is the name of the song you played at 13:57 on the violin? It's a beautiful song! Also, I wanted to say I think they thought the violin was the devil because many could not play it perfectly. Just a note off sure is the devil! But you have no devil in you and these wonderful instruments I never knew about. May many sweet blessings come your way in this time of your life.
