I like going back to watch some of your older posts. I absolutely loved your recitations of the beautiful poems. I too, like Yeats. But The Ballad of Matt Groves was luscious! Thank you. I have found it online will make sure to copy it for my collection.

Colette, what a great poem, the ballad of Mattie ... thanks SO much. And for that wonderful video of your drive through Connemara to Clifden. I have driven it several times in my past but who knows when I might ever have the chance to do that again. It's a long way from Florida 😔🇨🇮. Thank you so very very much for all the home you bring to me.

I watched this while sorting seeds. The video was a bit choppy at times, but thank you for doing this. I loved seeing the countryside. And the poetry & ballad were wonderful!

Just catching up on your videos on a west and windy Saturday. I spent a summer working in my cousin's craft shop just beyond Leenane by Killary Harbour. There is a story that a German WWII submarine lies in the depths. Whether it is true or just a story after a Guinness or two we shall probably never know! What happy memories I have of that time. There were 14 cats living at the shop and they would walk among the displays of Waterford Crystal. The theory was that if you didn't try to shoo them off they wouldn't break anything!

I just HAVE to tell you how much I enjoyed going on this beautiful drive with you. JUST WHEN I thought it couldn't get any better, you stop at the loch and recite poetry. I was nearly MIDNIGHT my time in central USA, but I watched they whole thing thru without stopping.

Talking of painters, do you know about Percy French? My favourite artist of all time. He absolutely captured the beautiful colours of Ireland in watercolour. I am very privileged to own three of his paintings as his two daughters ended up in old age in Suffolk where they knew my grandparents. They had to sell off a lot of his paintings to keep them in old age, so we were very fortunate to purchase quite a few between us. Where you stopped at 42:17 is exactly where I spent my summer at Durnasliggan. It is mussel farming in Killary Harbour.

Matty Groves sounds like something Loreena McKennitt should sing. Wow! That was a great recitation! Very charismatic and wonderful. =)

There's a powerful and mythical energy about that area. I was looking at Google Earth and it's majestic. I could tell a thousand stories against the back drop of those mountains. Wow!

It is a beautiful mystical, wild and barren place. If I were there I would plant more stands of trees.

Oddly enough, the closest town to the place I was born, which borders Natchez Trace State Park on 61 acres was called westport. And when we moved from the woods, Westport is where our family moved, and where our family still has a home.

The roads looked surprisingly clear. I expected a bit of tree debris on them, but perhaps you were just lucky with the roads you chose.
