I share your excitement at seeing a cardinal. Being from New Mexico, they were just a dream until we traveled around Texas. I soon figured out that if I recorded one chirping, it would draw them out. The recording also brought a Painted Bunting- I was thrilled. Bucket list bird! We ❤your video! Thank you.

Thanks for your family-related Gettysburg video. When we were there in 1981, we drove around in a rented motorhome and listened to a cassette tape which gave us some information! - Greetings from the last night in Dublin, Eire, where I visited an exhibition and could learn more about the Irish Famine that forced many Irish to leave for America.

Always love your biking videos! If you’re back in PA again, in historic Jim Thorpe, PA, you can get on the bike train (an old fashioned locomotive engine) which takes you up the Lehigh Valley Gorge Scenic railway to the village of White Haven. You then ride your bike down the scenic trail back to Jim Thorpe. It’s a beautiful ride with the river on your left and lots of waterfalls. The trail is 25 miles at a 2% downhill grade!

Wow, you two were in my neck of the woods. Absolutely love Gettysburg, and this area certainly has some beautiful countryside. They moved the visitor center since you were here 20 years ago and the new center is wonderful. So cool you can go and see your great-grandfather's work. Hope you got to drive around and see more of Gettysburg. They do a lot reinactments around July 4th and parade on Memorial Day. We don't even think twice about the tolls, they are a part of life in the East :)

We just got back from a 2 week van trip, most of it in PA. When you're back to pick up your new van consider staying at one of the state parks. We stayed at several this trip. Codorus is near Hanover was prefect for when we went to Gettysburg. Ricketts Glen and Hickory Run are both wonderful parks we stayed at on this trip. They are both off of i80 and Hickory Run is not far from Jim Thorpe. There's also the Pennsylvania grand canyon, another fantastic area to visit in the state.

Greetings from Maine. Thanks for the personal connections to Gettysburg. My Dad’s family was from Civil War territory in PA and OH. In fact my Dad found an unused Civil War vintage bullet in a field when he was a kid. I was in Gettysburg most recently in 1974 when my Dad and I hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail together. Still remember the battlefield spots like it was yesterday. There are so many ways the Battlefield is commemorated. One of them I remember the Cyclorama building designed by famous architect Richard Neutra, unfortunately has been torn down since then😔 We were getting ready to cross over into Canada this week to finish the parts of Nova Scotia that we missed last year when we were chased out by Hurricane Fiona… until we learned of the record rains there this week. We’re is reassessment mode now

@FromShetoMe
@FromShetoMe Жыл бұрын
I use Final Cut Pro but wouldn't necessarily suggest you start with that one. If you are on the Mac platform, then I would start with iMovie because it is a junior version of Final Cut and if you really like making videos and editing, then you can always move to Final Cut. It takes quite a long time to learn how to use these powerful platforms. There are quite a few good resources on KZbin to get you started. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. I love to see people learn a new skill. Don't let anyone discourage you. It can take many years to become proficient. Start with documenting whatever you love. You can keep your videos private if you like, but the important thing is just to do it over and over and over, adding a new editing skill with each video. Don't try to be a perfectionist or you will never publish a single thing.

What a shame the Declaration of Independence’s values were not applied by the North’s purchasing the Negro Indenture. State rights, pride & loyalty played an important role in the battle cry of the South. Our family business purchased a former slave’s home given land & Liberty by the plantation owner (San Jacinto, Texas).

Very emotional and bittersweet video. Nothing but respect for the strong, brave, Americans, on both sides, of that war that had brothers fighting against brothers. Sad time in the history of our country. A visit to Gettysburg Battlefield always opens my eyes to what our fellow Americans, the men, woman and children endured and sacrificed. I don’t think many folks today understand how brutal and gruesome war is. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully it will be seen by many and shared with hopes that the tides will turn and this never happens in America again. Your lovely quote tied in well at the end. We all should know more about our ancestry to allow us to understand on so many levels. 🇺🇸
