Thanks so much. We had a nice chat this week with a woman who is now full time in her custom van. She had a nice set up in a short Ford Transit Van. There is a huge community of women solo travelers out there and I met quite a few back in 2018 at the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous in Quartzite, AZ. Sure beats retiring to an unaffordable one room apartment in the city.

After having explored most of the National Parks in the West, I no longer frequent them, for many reasons. One reason is that I always bring my dog on every adventure and there are too many restrictions regarding "No Pets/Dogs on the Trail". I understand some of the potential reasoning but would be curious as to how the 'authorities' make their decisions. That said I don't take my dog on trails where he could endanger other hikers, and he is always leashed when he is with me.
@FromShetoMe3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it must be frustrating for responsible pet owners. I think the parks always take the side of caution. Unlike you, most people we run into let their dogs off leash. We frequently find poop bags along trails as if their mother is going to pick up after them. And sometimes it’s to protect endangered habitat/species. We saw a dog along the trail in Anza Borrego that had stepped on a chunk of cholla. Those things have barbs so I really felt for the dog.
@MrWinger19513 жыл бұрын
@@FromShetoMe Thanks for the reply. I agree, I suspected most of the restrictions arise from irresponsible owners.
