Marc, thanks for the how to vid, I found this out the hard way working on my dads atv cat. push in hold and pull out. it works.did you use a factory cv axle or after market for replacement. what was holding the axle nut so tight if no lock tight was installed. is it a steel lock nut , That's some torque for sure.

I went back with a factory AC axle and as far as I know that is all that is available as of now. When reinstalling the axle nut I went to 200 ft/lbs and the castle nut didn't line up, wen to 250 ft/lbs and still didn't line up. I would guess I have at least 350 ft/lbs on the nut to get it to line up.

are you replacing with stock axles from a dealer or aftermarket? I just broke my outer rear axle on my wildcat 1000 x and it broke at the boot and all the bearing fell out. wasn't sure if to replace with oem vs what's out there on ebay.

+Brian Redmayne At the time of this video all that was available was a stock replacement, Rhino axles are not available for the Sport. I'm not up to speed on axles for the 1000. I would suggest asking on Wildcatforums.net.

looking to get one of these and I'm wondering did the axle break because it's weak or did it break because of something you did? and if it's a 2015 would it not be warrenty and get fixed by the dealer for free? I'd like to know if there just weak and the warrenty suck's or what Thank you

It broke because of how I was running it, if it were an aftermarket axle it would have likely broke as well. Would warranty have covered it, yeah probably. But, the axle was only $150 shipped, it would have cost me close to $100 in fuel by the time I dropped it off and then went back to pick it up not to mention all the transport and down time. To save $50 I'll just do it myself.

thank you for the info Sir and I'd do the same if I was that far from the dealer

Damn are axles a common part that fails on the Sports? I didn't see much failures on the Trails. What kind of riding do you do or how hard are you on the machine. I'll definitely be getting a extended warranty when I purchase mine. lol.
@marcoradat9 жыл бұрын
+30spooln They really are not that common, I'm just very hard on my machine. I'm hard enough that I carry a spare steering rack and both axles when I go on a ride.

Tip #107 Leave the brake caliper on there so someone can apply the brakes for those really stubborn axle nuts

any body knows how to change rear boot and take apart the cv shaft

Always buy OEM axles or the axle won't stay in.

Never ever buy axles from ate connection. They won't stay in.
