FRONT DOOR MAKEOVER! How to Paint a Composite/UPVC front door Ft. French Chic Al Fresco paint!

This video is all about how to paint a Composite or UPVC front door! i didn't think it was possible, that i would always be stuck with with a color i don't like until i spend a fortune and change the front door. But i was so wrong and, with a bit of reading and planning, I've done it!
After some hunting for the perfect paint, I used french Chic paint in blush pink (not my choice). The paint is actually brilliant and can highly recommend - this is not a paid advert and i have no affiliation with French chic. If you are interested in French Chic paint, please follow the link below

This was great and really helpful, thank you! I’m also painting a composite door and it was really useful to see a step by step process. I sanded and cleaned, then used the Dulux Primer for difficult surfaces (it mentions can be used on uPVC) . Will be topping with Lick’s exterior paint in Red 03.

Personal view: your door looks absolutely lovely. Very pretty. My husband's literally just finished painting the inside of our front door with Frenchic - white over burgundy original colour (inherited the door!). 5 coats later....he's still not convinced by the hype of Frenchic paint. Have to agree. Very thin and dries quick (we knew), but very, very streaky. Gutted because we have Zinsser Primer, but all reviews said "Nah, no need to undercoat with this paint" 😕 Admittedly it's a composite door (as opposed to uPVC) so wonder if this paint was the most appropriate to use? Unfortunately he'll be using a totally different paint to do the front of the door. That'll be black over a decent Primer. We're old and a bit old-school about paints. My husband loves a gloss paint, isn't keen on water-based, so maybe I shouldn't have bullied him into using this paint...my bad!!😊 (He's just said "...it's looking a lot better...but we'll see what it's like when it's fully dried"🤞) If all else fails, it'll be a new front door being ordered!

Emmm...of all the vids I watched, this one of yours was probably the only one I hadn't viewed.....and should have!!!! We did all the prep work, but kick ourselves for not using a primer/undercoat. I left my earlier comment after watching most of the vid in 'mute'....what with your camera issue, and my sound issue, we'd make a great team😅

100% would always say prime regardless just because it's an additional layer of coverage and something for your final costs to bind too! I never really trust anything that's self priming! Maybe I'm paranoid 😂

So overall really good! But if you have any silicon seal around glass you may need to re seal with new silicon to look tidy. But overall it's really really good, very impressed!

Hi, Did you paint for inside ? only 2 coat for outside ?? I will need to paint 2 doors (Front & Back) outside and inside. I will buy a 250ml can ?

Hi! Good question. The inside of the door is white and didn’t really bother me that much. The red on the outside though was the most annoying part and had to go! So went with white inside and a dusky pink outside

Frenchic says you don't need to use primer before their alfresco range, wondering why you did .

Hi so because the colour below was much darker than the pink top coat and because it's a composite material, my thought process was that it would 1) take the sting out of the red so the pink is consistent 2) gives a better adherence to the top coat
