The best example so far! Every other video people were seriously modifying their bikes. This makes me more comfortable with this modification.

Do you know of or how to locate an Ebike mechanic to do Ebike Conversions in or around Delaware?

No torque arms? How do you know that the fork ends won't shear off once the motor exerts torque?

My "project donor" Giant mountain bike has traditional pad brakes. Do I need to convert to disc?
@mariaefremova53014 жыл бұрын
Yeah for safety
@loopernow4 жыл бұрын
No you don't have to. I suppose disk brakes are a newer technology and I guess safer but...no, it's not absolutely required. The implication of Maria Efremova's reply is that pad brakes could not stop the bike if somehow the motor was "runaway." I don't see how that's the case.

You are saying in the video that the wire exit out of the axle should be up, is that wrong because the opening will let water run into the motor via the wire axile access, should it not be pointed down so water drips off and away????????? your going to fill up the hub motor with water.
@Ebikebc7 жыл бұрын
The cable gland doesn't let the water in. the cable should go up anyways and the water splashes may penetrate anyways if the gland does not protect it.

Glands, penetration and protection. Got it.

Yes, wires should exit in the down position for the reason Michael Bradley has stated. Also when the wire is run up the forks it will create a drip bend so any condensation or water running down the wire will drip off.

Could I just relace the disc brake with a sprocket and put this on the rear for a motorized hybrid? Does it "HAVE TO" be used on the front???
@kenelder96154 жыл бұрын
there are different wheels for front and rear, there is no good way for bolting a sprocket to the front wheel

I have an Ebike, the Ecomotion Core Pro eFat. The rear has a Bafang 500w motor on rear hub. A 48v battery. I would like to add a front 500w motor as well, so it's "2wd", and was wondering if I can connect this motor to existing wiring- brakes- throttle etc. The wheel size is 26 with a 4 inch fat tire. The wheel has those round holes on the inside like many of the fat tire bikes do. So I would think you have that wheel with a 500w motor?. Again if so, can I possibly connect a wheel with motor in the front to the existing electrics?. Thank you.
@Ebikebc4 жыл бұрын
We have 500W front hub motor wheel for 26inch FAT bikes. You need a complete motor controller and 20A redundant battery capacity. If existing battery doesnt have that you need to add another battery too.

Some say the wire coming from the hub should be facing down to avoid water from getting in. Which is correct, up or down?

Hi, do my bike should have disk brakes to set the kit hub because i have V brakes in my bike?
@Ebikebc7 жыл бұрын
Wael alshami Hi, ebikebc hub motors are both disk and pad brakes compatible. Only hub or drum brakes need to be replaced by caliper brakes if using a hub motor.

Is there any difference between front hub motor and rear hub motor?
@MrTahref2 жыл бұрын
yes a rear hub motor wont fit in the front fork most of time.
@ToThePointCT Жыл бұрын
Yes the rear hub motor goes at the back of the bike and the front hub goes at the front of the bike

It's a trade between perfection and complexity. We recommend spending a couple more hours to learn and do to achieve perfect converted electric bike to enjoy it for long.

Beware of alloy forks with a front wheel motor, drop outs may fail with metal fatigue. It's caused fatalities. Don't know what the set up is in this video.

Front hub motors are dangerous. A strong motor can eventually break the fork off the bike possibly causing serious injury. It is unstable in loose ground and rain.
