Bolting in the inner fenders is a great idea! I am going to do the same with my Bronco build. Thanks for sharing.

It has helped me out twice now being able to remove them. Thanks

I bolted just like you did with stainless hardware, wheel wells, inner fenders to firewall with aluminum plate backers,core support to inner fenders. Front clip comes off as a whole or in pieces. So far so good. Nice work!

Thomas that is awesome. I did not think I had to be the only one to bolt them in. Thanks for watching.

Jason that wheel tub will look better when the steering shaft and the power brake booster are installed.
@JasonJonieBuilds3 жыл бұрын
It has some strange geometry for sure. I am sure it will too. I have to get used to it.

Have you ever thought about using threaded inserts with bolts / screws? I wanted access to my transfer case and transmission linkage, so I created a panel with holes in it for the screws and then pressed the inserts into the tunnel. It was a lot easier for me to remove that panel than trying to get my hands up and around the transmission. It also makes it a lot easier than trying to hold a nut and washer in place while tightening everything, not to mention they’re very low profile and look very clean.

Yes I have thought of those. My friend has a tool to install them but this is so easy to install I don't them on this part. Thanks for the idea.

great resource video for my swap. My wheel tubs are on the shelf, and I have replacement inner fenders too, so nothing is welded. I am definitely planning on this style rebuild or some variation that will allow better engine bay access for the day it's all together!

You are correct! That area behind the wheel well is a booger to paint correctly.

It should make my life a little easier. I hope y'all are enjoying the new Bronco.

Looking good - great idea bolting these in. I had thought about it and now I may just go and do it. It'll be a lot easier to prep and paint for sure. And future parts changes will be way easier. Jonie, Just a note on timing. It's a guy thing... Brandi has learned in our life together that my "a few minutes" means she might as well go on and do her thing because it's gonna be all day! And if I call it by any exact time she has to add at least two hours to whatever I say. And my truck is one big "dangit" spot!
@JasonJonieBuilds3 жыл бұрын
Thanks...Yes she has learned to add to my time estimation. My shop is the door to another dimension. I enter the door and 5 hours pass by in 5 minutes.

Love your attention to detail. I sprayed my engine compartment a few months ago. I just narrowed down my spray pattern to reach behind the wheel tubs. Is it as nice as the rest of the engine compartment? Probably not, will anyone ever see it? Probably not. I had a few oil canning dents in my hardtop as well. I used a torch to heat up a few dime sized areas red hot, let them cool and the metal will shrink fixing the issue. I look forward to seeing you start the painting process 👍👍
@JasonJonieBuilds3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Craig! I have shrunk metal like that too. My biggest issue is the paint. I kinda get hung up on weird things that drive me nuts.

@@JasonJonieBuilds I hear ya man I'm the same way. Sometimes I just have to say it's good enough otherwise I'll never finish my build trying to achieve total perfection.

I'm all about bolting in body parts that cant be seen...my welding skills are poor ( I'm impatient lol) I even bolted in my a pilar door hinge jamb - with stainless hardware ofcourse - for the incase moment if it needs to come apart...I will probably do the same on my rear quaters when its time... great video you two...happy Halloween!!!

Is this our treat for Halloween? Another great treat would be another video for Bronco build Monday!

Well this was supposed to be for Monday but Jonie decided to post it tonight since it is Halloween. Oh well we will be back next week. Thanks for watching!

Great video and Jonie great choice on the brand for grinder. The only brand that holds up. I wont lie…mine got a “heavy” coat of POR back there and I called it good. One question…why not SS hardware?
@JasonJonieBuilds3 жыл бұрын
Thanks David! I could go stainless but they seize up easy if you take them out often. We will see.

With the wheel tubs bolted in are you going to still seam seal? Are you going to paint over the seam sealer? If so aren’t you going to still have a problem painting the sealant down in those tight areas by the firewall?
@JasonJonieBuilds3 жыл бұрын
Mike, I will not seam seal that area. Both sides will be primed and and Raptor lined prior to assembly. So they will have plenty of protection and will look real good too. The lines are crisp so it will all turn out nice. Thanks for the question.

No sir. I sold it a little over a year ago. It was time to move on to the next project.

Hey Jason - I'm considering bolting in my wheel tubs. DO you have any regrets. Any issues? Thanks!
@JasonJonieBuilds Жыл бұрын
I am really glad I did. It made painting so much easier. Some like it some don't...I didn't regret it at all. Good Luck!

Looking good, but when you said you tend to over think things, Jonie's laugh kind of gave you away. She must know you very well. God Bless
