Ge front load washer will not drain all the water out. I cleaned the trap by the pump, took the pump off, cleaned the drain hose from the pump out the back. Still there is water in the seal at the door. Could something be caught like clothing? And where?

Great videos. My problem with similar Frigidaire washing machine. No grinding noise at all. But drum seems to me to be to loose , it can sway freely. It also makes very loud pounding noises if load is not balanced which is most of the time but not always. Someone suggested making sure the weights inside are tightened down properly. Anyone have a suggestion to check while I have the unit open ?? Thanks in advance

Bruce, It is likely a broken spider. That is the three arm piece that connects the drum to the shaft at the back of the drum. Hard to tell if it is that without taking it all apart. Sometimes the inner bearing literally comes apart and it feels the same as a broken spider. Jerrod

I have a Whirlpool that has had the bearing fail. Are there any good front load machines out there?

All of the currently made front load machines are crap in my view. If I still had the washing machine my mom had when I was a kid, it would still be running and would likely last for years more. We are selling repair kits for machines that are a year old and 10 years old. Some are getting several years out of a repair and needing to do it again but that is much less than buying a new machine. I had a repair on my machine that lasted for over 7 years so I felt it was as good or better than factory. You can get replacement washer repair kits here: www.yellowvanhandyman.com/washerrepair.aspx Some are also buying new machines and taking them apart before they use them to coat the spider with an epoxy paint and ordering bearing and seal repair kits to have on hand. Regards, Jerrod
