I use Nitecore rechargeable CR123's in all my lights.

$214 is not a good deal. Other retailers have this for $125. What up with that?

Are you sure they are selling the HL-X? and not the previous model like the HL?

$214 is a good deal as far as the HL-X is concerned. It's $249 most places I've seen. The HL-X itself is poor value, as the Surefire X300 Turbo is $290 and completely outclasses the Streamlight. It should be replacing the old HL at the same price to be competitive.

@@elitegrunthuntr The X300 Turbo has about half the output (650 lumens) compared to TLR-1 HL-X (1,500 lumens with rechargeable & 1000 lumens with non-rechargeable); so which one out classes the other?

@copquest Lunens only tell half the story, as they measure the raw power out the front of the light. Candela is a measure of a light's effective distance, as well as it's ability to overcome other light sources and punch through barriers like car windows. The HL-X has only 20,000 candela while the X300 Turbo has 66,000 candela. The Streamlight definitely has a wider throw and will light up a room better. The Surefire will have a tighter, more powerful beam, which I would argue is more useful in professional applications.

Appreciate your comment! It could be we just have different preferences and that is why different companies/products exist.
