@29:38 The Olight Baton 4 Premium. I liked it so much (along with the case), that I put one in each of our cars and truck, along with a 1' usb-c cable. Turns out, my wife has used it twice and is now an advocate - including once where she ran her iPhone down to about 2% and was able to use the case and cable to charge her phone a bit. Not the best for EDC, but for car emergency use - you can't beat it.

I watched the entire video from start to finish. Great video. A couple comments i'll make is that even with my large and growing collection of lights, I still haven't found a AA/AAA/18350 size light that i'm in love with. Plenty that are serviceable and that I use, but none that wow me. I reach for the SC13 the most in that area due to ease of moonlight mode. The other thing i'll say is that I disagree about the Baton 3 pro. I have a video coming out soon specifically on that light and though it may be outclassed by the warrior mini 3 for enthusiasts, there are plenty of people that simply don't like tail switches on their lights and having the baton 3 pro as an option thats still 18650 is great. That said, yes I also prefer the warrior mini 3.

Great collection! I agree with almost everything, even with trying to avoid flashlights with weird or proprietary connections. BUT, Skilhunt for instance make great flashlights, and if you loose the connector, you can always charge the battery in a standard charger. It's just a flashlight without USB-C (which might sound bad but there are no rubber caps either). I wouldn't discard such a great brand because of this. Imalent on the other hand has some flashlights like the LD70 with a weird connector and you cannot open the flashlight to charge the battery outside.
@nuclearphish80512 ай бұрын
Yeah, some of the picks here seemed rather arbitrary. Proprietary magnetic charging is a deal breaker even when the light could take anything from regular 1,2-1,5V AA batteries to 14500s with a built-in usb-c charging in the battery itself, but built-in non-replaceable batteries are fine? Except then there's stuff like the Arkfeld with both non-replaceable battery AND completely proprietary charging, and that is not only passable but gets the highest possible ranking too? And no regard for the quality of drivers in general and regulated outputs etc? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely understand personal taste is personal taste and sometimes it's just impossible to put on paper why something works for you and something else doesn't. I still really like videos like this, even if they can sometimes get a little confusing. :D
@ChristopherRobin5827 күн бұрын
Love these ranking videos you do! 🙌 Personally, I love my Microstream USB. I have a decent collection and that's the one that almost always makes it back into my pocket. I'd like more settings, but it's so compact and the battery lasts so long for me using it daily. Also, I have the Sofirn SC32 from your recommendation a long time ago, and it does go straight to turbo with a double tap. Depends on the mode you have it set to. Very curious to see your thoughts on the new Nitecore EDC23! Keep these awesome reviews going! We're here for it!

Olight Arkfeld pro and Warrior mini 3 will always be my edc, something about them just makes them perfect to me. If/when the Arkfeld Ultra gos on sale again I'll probably grab one of them. I ended up getting the loop SK03 and while it is cool I don't think it's anything special. I will give it one thing however, it is far easier to give to someone and they will almost always be able to use both functions without instructions. Compared that to a Rovyvon A8 or A28, witch might be one of the more complex lights with a similar functionality. Probably going to return it because I am the only one who would need side LEDs and I have a A8 and A28.

You are wrong about the GT Nano, You do not need anything else to charge the batteries. You can put them in any good charger, especially with the 10440. I do it all of the time. Nothing personal, just gotta call you out on the fact that you literally put flashlights into your higher tier that can only be charged using a proprietary charger into your higher tiers. Again nothing personal just gotta call it when I see it. And if you want a smaller 18650 light that will maintain 2000 lumens output check out the Wurkkos FC12. It may be the best budget flashlight you can get to be honest. And it has a USB C port as I can see how much you like having those on your lights lol. It also has a great beam. And It has also been fully torture-tested and it truly can withstand more then you could ever throw at it.

I only began my flashlight hobby earlier this year and I realized that I had a flashlight addiction once I had surpassed six flashlights. 😞 Fortunately I drilled some sense into me and managed to reduce my cravings by putting in some self-imposed restrictions: 1. The flashlight must not cost above US$45, inclusive of discount vouchers. 2. Buy only models from Wurkkos, Sofirn or Convoy. I skipped watching YT reviews of any other brands other than these three. 3. Choose torches that only use the 18650 or 21700 battery format (including host tube upgrades to 18650). Even with those rules in place, I still managed to end up with 14 Wurkkos, 12 Sofirn and 4 Convoy flashlights! 🔦😭💸

A friendly beg to differ! I really don’t see how you can push aside the baton 3 pro so easily in favor of the Pro Max. The baton three does better in runtimes on Eco mode and has significantly greater Candella in general. As for as the warrior mini 3 it only outperforms the baton 3 pro on candela which is definitely a plus. However, once again, the baton three pro last longer in Eco mode. I doubt the scenario would come up where people need hundreds of days of Eco mode but nonetheless, we’re talking comparative statistics here. Next item! 😅 I’m not too sure the i3T 2 outperforms the original. It’s not as bright in low mode. In high mode it’s barely a smidgen brighter if anything. Not really sure they could legitimately call it a new and improved from the original. So happy you gave mention to the venerable Streamlight 1L-1AA! I totally agree that an upgrade to a 3.7 battery would be amazing. Tail standing would be great too. If the little Nitecore MT1A pro can push out 800 lumens I mean come on Streamlight! Great review!

just curious, why don’t you own any Emisar or Fireflylite? I don’t know if you ever talked about this in some other videos, but not seeing any of those in that collection was kinda strange since I think that at some point you’ll end up owning at least one of those. Lately Fireflylite is making great products, they’ve some defects as someone reported some issues, but I’ve got a perfectly functioning Stellar X4 which I find to be the perfect EDC substitute to the Seeker 4 Pro (too big to carry in my pocket daily), even replacing my Baton 4 since I prefer warmer tints and high CRI in my usage scenario. Having only the Seeker as a 21700 example I found the Stellar amazingly compact, for a 21700.

It’s funny 🤔, I’m sitting here watching this great 1-hour video about flashlights (super entertaining and informative as always! 👍), but I still can’t find something that matches my needs. I’m currently using the Wurkkos FC11 with 1,300 lumens, about 144 meters of range, and a color temperature around 4,000K with a CRI of 90. The size is perfect for the pocket, the waterproofing (IPX-7) is good, and I love that you can swap out the battery 🔋. BUT I really wish it had a more focused beam - somewhere around 56,000 cd for a longer throw, but keeping the 1,300 lumens. I wouldn’t mind more lumens, but the beam pattern is the priority. I’d also prefer longer battery life over more brightness, as 1,300 lumens is enough for me. Also, I’d love an improved button and handling of the UI. A rotating head would be nice for work situations too, but that’s secondary. Any recommendations that fit these specs?❤

I just ordered the fc11c the other day ($21 with a battery on wurkkos' site). I was looking to do the opposite as you. I currently carry a pokelit most days and have a Fenix tk16 v2 that I got as a gift a couple years ago. The tk16 is a monster and while a little chunky, does work in a pocket. And the tail cap button on the pokelit is gross feeling, great light though. I wanted something "in-between". Small enough to carry everyday and sort of a pleasing, usable light for my daily situations. I guess just a "boring" every day light. So I landed on the fc11c. Plus, if I need a throwy light, the Fenix is really something special to have in your pocket.

Nope, none of them stack up to competition

I think weltool makes a shrouded tail switch option for the T2.

I'll look into it!

No ThruNite Ti2 in your keychain ranking? It's my favourite by far. It uses a single AAA which lasts pretty much forever and means you can stash some more if you're going somewhere with minimal electricity for a few days. Also the brightest I've personally tried so far (though I hear the nitecore are brighter).

It had some issue, I don't own any more and I think edc01 from Lumintop is better imo
@ALifeOfWine2 ай бұрын
@@maxlvledc Interesting, I haven't tried the edc01 because it was slightly bigger and every mm counts on a keychain, but I might have to get one to give it a chance if your experience is that's it's decently better. Cheers for the reply! Edit: changed recently to decently, silly autocorrect

@@ALifeOfWine I like how it also comes with a difuser. Does the Ti come with one?

@@maxlvledc No diffuser for the ti, I've never really thought I'd need a diffuser, I'll give it a go with and without, you never know, it might suprise me!

Your suggestion for a "Left in the car's glove box" flashlight?
@aribolel821622 күн бұрын
I’m surprised that none of the ledlenser flashlights are included! They’re proper quality.

Which is a good cheap light for under 20 bucks

The FC12 is an absolutely fantastic light, but it has a bug: when in low mode sometimes it doesn't turn on and needs to be reset by pressing the side switch for 5 seconds. (I personally experienced this bug). Whis they fixed it since it has been known for a while Anyway, great video
@brandonlee85822 ай бұрын
All true... sometimes you can also reset by pressing 5 times. Otherwise, battery removal works every time. But 18350 tube and warrior mini clip still makes this one of my favorite thrower lights to carry.
@mjiopytrklk2 ай бұрын
@@brandonlee8582 while I still prefer the FC12 I think the convoy s6 (which I have) is a good choice for a small thrower. The UI isn't as good as the FC12, but it's lighter and even cheaper.

I'll ask them, So far my newer updated one hasn't had the issue.

I love the baton 4, hate the pocket clip, I like my emitter pointing down so I have to use the part of the clip that’s for the bill of a hat and it’s a pain the ass getting it in my pocket

What qualifies a light as "tactical"? Is there really a definition, or is it just "black and scary"?
@diemman702 ай бұрын
Usually the definition involves a rear switch that activates a turbo mode or strobe.
@maxlvledc2 ай бұрын
2 things for me: must have tail switch, and pressing that tail switch MUST activate either turbo or strobe (being over 10,000CD and 1000Lm is also a plus)
@LarryGarfieldCrell2 ай бұрын
@@maxlvledc What is the purpose of that, in particular? Is tactical code for self defense blinding weapon? That seems to be the implication but I've never seen it states explicitly.
@GuillermoCordero282 ай бұрын
@@LarryGarfieldCrell The definition of the word tactical refers to military focused gear, therefore the flashlights must be easier to access on the Turbo settings and not have any complicated UI to avoid turning the light on lower settings by accident. Oxford definition of the word Tactial: "relating to or constituting actions carefully planned to gain a specific military end".
