It wasnt well done in many ways, mostly because of how bad the robots look. Im not against remakes or anything, im not those kind of nostalgic fanboys. Actually i even think that FM, a mecha game, is naturally meant to look better in 3d than in sprite art. But it's impossible to support this work.

A 2D-HD Remake like the Dragon Quest 3 Remake would looked better, the new version looks fine but the old one have more charm

Making it 3d is completely alright. Actually Mecha is particularly a field where the change to 3d graphics is radically more beneficial than anything else, where 2d vs 3d is very debatable and 3d is never an obvious winner. But even with that advantage, it has to be well done of course. And in the case of this remake it wasnt well done in many ways.

I just made a comparison of dialogues in the game by looking at the Super Famicom japanese version (BTW the new japanese version has the same dialogues than the Super Famicom) and the both translated versions in this video. Result the old Super Nintendo version is very close to what they say in japanese, and this is a good translation close to the original. The new one is up to you if you like it or not. Personnally I don't like it, and I don't like the "remake" neither. I think this remake is a cheap and the Super Famicom version is so good that it is difficult to make it better. I see that the new version is cleaner and the graphics are superior, but for some reason I feel that the SF version is much more absorbing and you really feel like you are part of the game. I hope they don't make more "remake" like this one. And just I forget to mention the horrible and useless blur on the top and foot of the screen like in Zelda wind Fish.

Agreed. The Front Mission 1 remake looks pretty cheap and quickly done. The Front Mission 2 remake on the other hand looks far better for some reason. 🤔

looks like an indie studio cheap game made with the Unity basic Toolset with 2D AI upscaling Art. Please don't buy this crap SquareEnix Japan can do a real Remaster way better than this. This looks awful for god sake! a cheap piece of crap! remember the Live a Live remake? Yes? That's the way folks. Not this... ahhh! whatever man

Yes a agree with a part of what you say. But SquareEnix is also able to make crap like they did with the Seiken Densetsu 2 that was really really bad. This "remake" of the game looks extremely bad, and putting both original an remake together just helps to see how Front Mission was a great game and is still a piece of art today on the Super Famicom.

They didn't change the script. The SNES version is a fantranslation and this remake takes the script from the official localization that was done for the Nintendo DS port word for word.

Looks great . Everyone like myself cried Langrissor deviated too much from the original . Make it like a simple mobile game. They made this have hardcore randomness like the original and so many reviewers are crying about it . The graphics actually looked redone too.

Why is the text in the new game smaller?

because it still actually appears larger on your screen, remember old games were in smaller aspect ratio, as u can see there's more of the game/environment and such visible in new version

Lloyd był w fanowskim tłumaczeniu oryginalu. Oficjalnie nigdy oryginal nie doczekal się tlumaczenia na język inny niz japoński.

@@Cycu1 nie wiem czy zauwazyles ale obie wersje sa w oficjalnym tlumaczeniu (inaczej w dialogi inaczej w menu).... also to problem "l r" w japonskim zapisie... Lloyd jest prawidlowe
