The wait is over! We head over to Black Market Racing for dyno testing to see if you need to upgrade your Ecoboost Mustang's stock front mount intercooler. We're comparing not only the charge temperatures but also the horsepower differences between the stock front mount intercooler, CV Fabrication Street, CV Fabrication Race, and Full-Race Motorsports aftermarket intercoolers for the 2015-2022 Ecoboost Mustang.

Another great video from y'all. Yeah it's 30 minutes, but full of so much info and no useless long filler into/outros. I also appreciate your honesty when it comes to fitment/finish issues and setting the right expectation. There's nothing more frustrating than running into issues and watching some of these install videos that go through everything so quickly and flawlessly. P.S. you never want your pipes touching bro! (unless you're into that sort of thing...no judgement here :P)

I used the factory pipes for my cvfab race intercooler. Yeah. It was tough getting on for sure. I haven't got a retune since I installed my intercooler. I am planning a cvfab downpipe this July and will do a fresh tune then. Hoping for good results 🙏

I bought the CVfab race. Fitment with stock charge pipes were definitely a pain a in the ass. I eventually got them on but had to use a ton of grease. I eventually switched to the CVfab charge pipes and much easier to install

I have a 2018 eco 10 speed automatic with a roush CAI and custom exhaust as well as a sr performance throttle body spacer and C&L bypass valve, no tune. Do i need a tune for the cvf race intercooler and how much whp/ torque do you think i will make with my current mods?

@@FunctionFactoryPerformance I love it !!! Temps are way down on street use and I don’t get any heat soak on any street runs !! I can push the car back to back to back and it’s great bc for a bigger turbo I don’t need to upgrade!! Matched with the cvfab 50mm charge pipes With the turbo genv turbo smart bov no need to upgrade but I will say I didn’t run a stock tune as soon as I got it I pushed the car 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I'm leaning towards the Mishimoto IC since I have a pretty good deal on it, would you say that it would be similar to the CVFab street? It's hard to get parts from the US here in Europe for the moment so I will go the Mishi route for now... Awesome job as always guys 👌🏼

Nice man I have a Wagner Evo 2 race Intercooler on my Ecoboost mustang it makes a big difference. I have a question should I put charge pipes cold and hot side and a turbo smart blow off valve would that make a difference in power thanks guys great video.

The charge pipes are a purely cosmetic upgrade as the stock pipes have made well over 400 WHP. I personally always change my stock charge pipes as they look cheap. Did you guys do the stock charge pipes on the street version? I'm pretty sure CVF offers optional charge pipes but I figure they barely make a difference. I love the video. I kind of have a hard time sitting on it for 30 mins, but I also don't know how I'd cut it down.

We did, they fit perfectly. We discussed the length, this is as much as we could cut it down. We’ll chop up the time marks here shortly.

okay my setup: 2020 non-hpp ecoboost mustang of course lol Stage 1 OTS from COBB v3 running 91oct fuel Roush CAI cvf high flow cat, flowmaster y-pipe, flowmaster outlaw axle-back cvf race intercooler Stock injectors/turbo/fuel-pump - What would a guesstimate be on my current wHP? I'll be going to Ryan at PDTuning shortly for a custom Tune as well. - Love your content hope there are more dyno pulls with all my stuff listed installed lol.

The best option would be to go with CV Fab chargepipes with the OEM flange

Whats the best and/or must have option for a daily driver? (no track use, just beef it up a bit) Oil seperater, flash tune, intercooler, intake, downpipe w/ cat? Also, is the blow off value you showed for daily driver necessary? I dont want to overdo it after hear about EcoBooms lol

100% the Cv fab street FMIC. We do not use the term ecoboom. Any car can blow up. Yes the BOV is fine to use on all applications.

Thank you for your feedback. I'll purchase the Street CVF intercooler. Didn't realize how small the stock was. True, any motor can blow up, even if it's well maintained. Just has a ring to it lol

What's the stock boost level, sounds like the stock turbo is very small it spools fast but can't maintain high boost at higher rpms . heat soak happens if it's on the dyno is typical because your missing relative air forced across the front of the car.

That can be said about any and all stock boosted vehicles OEM Intercooler are not efficient for high performance use

E and meth combat heat. If you’re using this Intercooler for drag racing then it wouldn’t matter, I wouldn’t use it for road racing.

The designs are nearly the same as CV so I wouldn't say it's the best.

Yep!, it does add power. The Mishi is the same as the CV Street so the dyno is very comparable.

@@FunctionFactoryPerformance you have blown my mind. I have the ford performance tune and a MBRP race exhaust with the mishi intercooler. Im curious how much hp the intercooler adds. Right now without taking the intercooler into effect, the car pushes 362hp crank. Im thinking the intercooler adds another 10? but it doesnt add to torque right? any information would be helpful thanks
