Awesome video, it was great watching you do the maintiance taking care of your old trusty snow blower, that thing has done an incredible amount of snow moving for you! For anyone wondering, you can use skids off an “arians snow blower” which I believe are the same ones Jon had, and those bolts that look like carriage bolts that hold on the cutting edge are actually called “plow bolts” they are just kkke a carriage bolt only they have a flat head so that it’s not to get ground off when being inserted through a cutting edge. I wish you lots of snow this year Jon! I say that cuz I enjoy watching you plow 😂

I wish Kubota make the side shoes on the new blower drop down farther. We got nailed with a whack of wet snow last week. Knee high! I have a gravel driveway and usually I’ll back blade the snow down with the loader just to give it a hardened layer so I don’t pickup any gravel with the blower. But there was just too much snow. Blower was digging in into that wet and not so frozen driveway. I was picking up gravel and blasting it on to the lawn. Had to run around with the blower raised and the driveway didn’t look so great after I was done. I think I may have to makeup a custom set that will keep the blower up higher for that first time of use. That little tractor saved the day for sure this time around. That snow was heavy and it didn’t miss a beat.

@wildbill23c3 жыл бұрын
Just put the blower on my lawn tractor last weekend...leaf season is pretty much over for the year and took the last decently nice warm weekend and installed the blower...made it a bit less of a hassle this year as I had put the snow blower on a pallet to make it easy to pickup and move to my carport without having to try and carry the thing from the shed...if only it made it easier to install it, still somewhat of a struggle for installation due to the design, but a lot less back breaking using the pallet forks on the tractor rather than having to pack the blower over by hand. Now that the snow blower is installed on my lawn tractor we are guaranteed to not get any snow. Haven't had a decent winter since I bought the snow blower...the winter prior to buying it, I had 2 feet of snow in my driveway...hasn't snowed very much sense...most we've had was about 8-10 inches, barely enough to really get an idea of how the blower would work. I had to modify it a bit as I have a gravel driveway, even with the side skids down as low as they'll go it would sink into the gravel and pick it up and throw it all over....so I cut a slot in a steel pipe and attached over the cutting edge that's supposed to help it slide over the gravel rather than dig down into it, we shall see.
@ritterjon3 жыл бұрын
Great idea using the steal pipe trick. I hope that works out well for you. My buddy just got a tractor with a snowblower and has a gravel driveway. I'll suggest this idea to him. I hope we get a good winter with plenty of snow so you can really but that equipment to use. Keep on tractoring!

@@ritterjon I don't mind the snow, just wish people would learn to drive in it...seems every snowstorm here in Idaho people have to relearn how to drive, rather they just never learn at all.
