I’m a class 1 driver thinking of getting my pcv license , all I need is a theory then practical because we use same cpc and digi cards 😬 but I was warned money is crap

You need to do seperate CPC for PCV. You'll need to do an initial for Cat. D if you don't already have one. Money is definitely less than artic, but if you are happy with making less, it is then down to whether you like the kind of work you can do on PCV (scheduled city bus, long-distance, or tours).

Why does it rev so high before changing gear?

It doesn't really. It is just quite a high-pitched engine noise. You're hearing more the gearbox and drive train. Scania coaches often like that.
