With fiber glass is better to shred the sides of the pieces that you put on. The fiberglass strands promotes better adhesion and hide the seams between the layers in comparison to clean cuts.

In my opinion, and with no harm intended, I think that your content is not the same anymore. I see your videos since 7 years ago (first one was the rocker cover restoration, I fell in love with your craftmanship), but since 2-3 years I fell you try to handle too much since (I presume) you manage all of this alone. Do not get me wrong, I love the stuff about the workshop and all of this. But you know why are we all here for. Cars. BMWs to be precise. I just hope this message can bring something good. ❤

When I have items too large to close the door on my sandblaster, I wrap the door / item with a sheet of HD plastic sheet & tape it to the sandblaster to preserve the vacuum extraction...

You ain't bad in fiberglassing, You just use the wrong material for the task. Change from chopped-strand mat to actual glass cloth in different weights (beginning with extra light 80g/m2), and different weaves (mostly twill and tabby) - thumb-rule quadruple the strength per weight compared to chopped strand garbage, depending on resin-glass ratio. Change from polyester to epoxy, and use peel ply where ever possible. Those long bristled brushes aren't the best way to hand-lay, either: short-bristled brushes, or cutting those usual home-depot ones shorter (not easily done in a clean, equal way), and probably consider buying a tool to get rid of bubbles in between strands - I do not have the english word now, sorry (best was vacuum, of course, but that was a whole next step of fiberglass-work). Your results are excellent given the material and tooling used, and the tedious grinding is only partly avoidable anyway - that's what peelply does, avoiding those resin-drops and -hills, and avoiding the grind of cured layers before bringing in the next layer. Thanks for sharing! Edit: Coming from a former boatbuilder. So I had a cloth or two in my hands over the decades ...

Not sure if that cracked fiberglass bumper reenforcement should be repaired... in the event of a crash its important for it to be there as part of the safety devices. Much like you shouldnt restitch a seatbelt as you could be held liable for modifications of crash safety devices...
