Were you intending to replace the underbody anti-rust coating that you ice-blasted off? I get it looks all clean now - but there's a reason why it's coated from factory.

Guys, that anti-rust coating only works if it's intact anyway. If it's compromised it will actually trap moisture and promote rust. There is no substitute for paint and wax.

The reason it looks so good underneath is because the factory undercoating works and did its job. Removing it is a mistake, like cleaning a valuable old coin. It's only original once.

Just a tip for anyone watching, you can completely restore the faded black plastics as well as the faded orange press button on the belt buckle with lexol vinylex. Spray it on thick and let it dry on it’s own. Buff off with a microfiber towel on the black but on the orange use your finger to spread the dried film then lightly buff. Works like a charm 👌🏽

Now that is full service detailing. Blurring the lines between detailing and restoration! Awesome job. @@atn2666 There is no " package" there was so much one-off work done here the car means something to someone and they decided to invest in it and it paid off. There was an entire new top installed, new leather, computer, etc etc. I live in the area and when my Porsche leaves Sleepers I will be heading over there for some work but people should not ask what this unique service cost as it's between the shop and the owner.

Definitely a car worth doing this sort of work. I once owned an Alpina E21 BMW and I have many fond memories of the model. This was a great video to watch - as always! Hope you were well remunerated! Nice touch regarding the window trim, by the way. I remember in my experience it was always a weakpoint on the early 3 series cars. It would corrode and oxidise quite quickly, requiring constant replacement.

99.99% perfect imo which is the best restoration ive seen. The only and I mean ONLY thing i wish was replaced wouldve been new cigarette lighter. But it dont really matter. Car looks beautiful. Im in the UK and run a restoration/paintwork shop. All i can say is if our cars were that clean to start with we'd have an easy life haha! Ive never seen an e30 with so little rust. People asking what this cost should be aware the owner probably got a bill for 15-20k.
