I think that is the unsung hero of this comparison. There hasn't been a fighter this mass produced since the propeller planes of WW2. Add to this the fact the F-35 can be exported to friendly nations, it significantly lowers production and maintenance costs while increasing spare part availability.

The ability of America to make small, highly capable fighters compared to Russia and China's large fighters is striking. A lot of this is due to miniaturization of small yet powerful electronics and small yet very, very, powerful engines. American pilots are the ace in the hole for America, they have much better training and more flight time then their potential opponents. Then there is the better software that accompanies each aircraft, The Russians have always had a shortage of competent software engineers and China is only a little better. The western nations are far ahead in technology due to the freedom of western democracies.

All the posted KZbin videos by weapons experts or fighter jet pilots seem to indicate to me, that F15EX, F22, F35 and the soon NGAD, 6th generation, all can defeat Sukhoi 57 easily, or even drones, fact is so long as fitted with the longest range air-to air missiles, it is all invisible range anyway. No dog fights needed, in real dog fight, it is completely different.

The Su-57 is junk. Nowhere near to being 5th gen. And very little in the way of operational experience. And forget the Su-75, it exists only as a plywood mockup and several hours of very clever CGI video - the Russians at present don't actually have the technology needed to produce a flying prototype that will match up to their stated design and performance capabilities.

It's true that Russians have been painting mockups of the fighter to obfuscate their numbers and make targeting them more difficult, but the one hit was real and confirmed disabled. The trouble with these complicated jets, is they are not armored and are easily damaged even by indirect fire. A piece of shrapnel here and there can cause the plane to not be airworthy without an extensive (and expensive) rebuild.
