For those wondering, the water tower used to say "FLORENCE MALL", but due to some local ordinance they had to remove the mall reference. It was too much of a local staple to remove though, so they changed it to "Y'ALL", which is arguably way more iconic. The stadium is within sight distance of said water tower, so the team name makes even more sense because of it

Palisades Credit Union Park is 20 miles from the George Washington Bridge. The Boulders were originally the Rockland Boulders as they are in Rockland county, but everyone knows New York by name better. The fans at Stade Canac are probably the most passionate. Les Capitales do a really quality job producing the game, as of this moment, they have my favorite mascot, Capi, when I visit them. Sussex features a cigar bar on the first base line. I like Yogi Berra, but the stadium that's names after him is a dump. Trois-Rivierés is ok, but I enjoy watching games from my private skybox in right field when I visit. Ottawa sadly is a boring stadium. 10000 seats for a paying crowd of 2000, and concessions that remind me of my old high school lunch line. I hope the new ownership group replacing the Ottawa Champions do a better job than the prior owners in drawing people to the park.

I live 10 minutes from Bosse Field. It is the third oldest surviving ball park in America, only after Fenway and Wrigley. Countless legendary players played here including Hank Greenburg, Warren Spahn, Eddie Roush, Mark Fidrych, Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Kirk Gibson, just to name a very few. Negro League games were played here in the 1920's. Jim Leyland managed our AAA team, the Triplets, to The American Association Championship in 1979. The film "A League of their Own" was largely filmed at Bosse Field, as the home of the Racine Belles. To dismiss this beautiful, charming, much-loved, historic ball park as merely outdated is a great injustice to our city and the history of this landmark.

Québec and Trois-Rivieres stadium were built on the same plan as public works by the provincial governement to make men work during the tough economic times of the 30’s. Quebec stadium now has a full artificial turf (which is bad for the atmosphere the stadium had before, but in Canada, it’s the best since the field condition of a grass field have important restrictions in time of use by summer. Now the stadium can be used any hour and by any kind of baseball. Ottawa stadium has been a AAA park in the past (Ottawa Lynx) which was Montreal Expos farm team and after the Orioles
@DJOmnimaga5 ай бұрын
Yeah I remember back when Quebec had to postpone between 5 and 10 games per season back when they had a grass surface. Now they can play at almost any time although some fans are not aware of that yet, so during bad weather games attendance is usually lower. The team is also able to keep their prices low as well because they no longer only make money solely from ticket sales.
@andrevaudrin31642 ай бұрын
Well explained. Both stadiums were built during the prime minister Duplessis era and I think they have been considered the best looking stadium in Canada, so far. ;) By the way I was raised by the Quillorama Stadium (Trois-Rivières) when our town had a AA team afficiliated with the Cicinnati Reds. We used to have great young players that made the major later on: Griffey, Driessen, Eastwick, Youngblood, Hume, Zachry, Knight (Ray), Andujar and so on. Quebec City was an Expos affiliate AA too where Dawson, Carter, Valentine and others made it as well. It was a great time.

This actually is the 'Cats first year in the Frontier League as they were a part of the now disbanded New York-Penn League which was a Single A Short Season league. As such, since 2002 when the Valleycats were formed, they have been affiliated with Houston Astros (yes, I know, trash can jokes lol). Glad that they're still playing baseball especially for a league such as this!

The Joliet Slammers stadium actually resembles a jail. The Joliet area has the old Illinois State penitentiary made infamous in the Blues Brothers movie. Statesville Prison (mostly for Illinois governors), and a youth correctional center.
@maximerivard61003 жыл бұрын
Quebec city and Trois-Rivieres are the same stadiums and they were built in the same years after the Great Depression to boost economy that is why they very look alike. As for the teams names Quebec Capitales is because the city is the provincial capital and for the Aigles it means eagles in french.

Actually have been to a Frontier League Park but it was only in it for one year, 2003. It was Price Cutter Park where the Springfield-Ozark Ducks played in Ozark, Missouri. Before that it had a team with very much the same name since 1999 but they were in the Texas-Louisiana League. After that the ballpark was basically abandoned until the local Metro League which was Springfield's little league, decided to move in but the ballpark clearly wasn't fixed up yet. It was only after the past three or four years that the park got a makeover when U.S. Baseball moved in with their Show-Me League which also drew in college teams such as Drury and Evangel and is also hosting High School State Tournaments as of this year.

The Y'all's are named after a legal necessity painted on a water tower. They built the Florence Mall in the 1970s, right next to I-75, just south of Cincinnati. A huge water tower for the mall was almost hanging over the interstate. It had "Florence Mall" painted on it, a kind of sign for the mall. There was a legal dispute as to whether they could use that name, so for a while they changed "Mall" to Y'all, because Kentucky was the first southern state that I-75 passed through coming South. After some years, the mall was allowed to keep the name, but the Florence Y'all on the water tower was a beloved symbol of the city by then. When the Florence Freedom's owner died in 2019, the team was sold and renamed after the sign on the water tower.
