I believe from when I was a kid that this country was meant to be. Yes I do believe in divine intervention. 👍I was born and raised in Philadelphia. The history here is awsome. But the people here pay it no attention. Hell, most of them don't even know it. Thats sad. I am also a half hour from Valley Forge Pa. It's 17 miles to Philadelphia. My uncle would take me and my brother to Valley Forge every weekend. It was great.

And I’m so sorry for the tornado. Texas was struck with a horrible mass shooting today. Again at a school. This 18 year old kid was mad that he wasn’t going to be able to graduate (this is the rumor as of now) and he got in an argument with his grandma. Not sure if he was raised by her or not. But in the course of the argument he ahoy her. Hasn’t been confirmed if she was actually murdered by the shot yet or not. And the kid took off in his truck and about a mile down the road he crashed off an embankment looking thing. Two men from a funeral home right beside there came to assist him and he took shots at them. I think he luckily didn’t strike them or at least not fatally. Details are not being completely released yet. Then the kid somehow wearing body armor and carrying two guns one an assault rifle of some sort and handgun with a backpack of ammo climbed a fence to an elementary school across the street and shot his way in killing all he came across and he perceives to be in his way. Mind you this was within three minutes. The kid supposedly ran to the school because he could hear sirens coming to the call about the wreck. It wasn’t his plan to go to the elementary school. And the brave police man they were on him. Several police were shot again we don’t know all the details. But because he was wearing body armor he wasn’t being taken down and kept shooting innocent little babies in school. And a few minutes in someone on SWAT went in and took him out. So so far they are saying 20 students and two adults are all that is confirmed to have died. Several in hospital in stable up to critical condition. Only one being a little 10 year old girl in critical and fighting for her life. So yeah another disgusting day in the good old USA! Those kids were about to be out for the summer in two days. And this guy just snapped and obviously he meant to go on a killing spree because he had all of that. But man why go in that elementary school? Just makes me so heart broken for these families. And all these babies that will have years of therapy to go thru now. And this was just a little kid too. A senior in high school. My son is 17. I just can’t imagine. So I’ll be praying for your area and you do the same for us here in Texas.

You are so right, Justine! About history in school being boring. It's nothing but names and dates and laws and wars. Nothing to compare it to. And Ron, you hit the nail on the head with taking your kids to an event or historical place so they can EXPERIENCE history. We were fortunate enough to have parents who realized that and they inspired us. Probably where our desire to live in the past came from. We all know that if we don't learn history, we are bound to repeat it. There's so much truth in that statement! You two keep doing exactly what you're doing and who knows how many children, or parents influencing their children, you will change and educate in ways the school system can not! P.S. Ron, you waistcoat is awesome! I was once told to look of the time period, you need to look like your Grandma's couch or curtains. I'd imagine that goes for rugs, too!😆

Here you go Ron: The word "tornado" is an altered form of the Spanish word tronada, which means "thunderstorm". This in turn was taken from the Latin tonare, meaning "to thunder". It most likely reached its present form through a combination of the Spanish tronada and tornar ("to turn"); however, this may be a folk etymology.

I agree 100% with you Ron and Justine. Living history is the way to love it. Seeing and feeling what it was like. Living in California, we used to take vacations as a kid to the Gold rush country. We'd tour the old settlements, watch gold panning demonstrations. I was always fascinated by the way they lived back then; the homes they lived in. Having enjoyed baking at an early age, I loved seeing the kitchens they cooked in; the tools they used. THAT's the way to experience history. It comes alive that way, and becomes something you want to study! Health IS SO important! Especially as you get older. Treat your body, mind and spirit well!

I had an 18 year old ask me who Alexander Hamilton was yesterday. She said her teacher told her that he was a very famous man that everybody knew. What shock. Too sad.

My uncle was an avid history buff and participated in the re-enactment of the Battle of Lexington Concord in April every year he was able. I attended the event when I was in my teens. I remember his attire for the event. It was a leather coat with fringe and leather pants and boots. All hand sewn by someone. Every detail had to be authentic.

Born and raised in SW Virginia. We still have many homes from the 17 and 1800s where I live. We have documents in our county seat signed by our founding fathers. We have a Lewis and Clark conne tion here. My ancestors have lived here since the 1600s including Jamestown. My ancestors faught in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI and II, Korea, and Vietnam. My step kids would ask where are the battlefields. I'd say you're in it. Literally. I am thankful I was brought up on all this history as well as being thankful fot you bring history to life.

I live in Brighton UK I was bought up in London. I love local history, where I live now is an old neolithic possibly camp site. There has been remains of various people dug up here, ancient Britain, Romano British ,Saxons, one lady is displayed at the pavilion museum, she's Romano British, she died giving birth and is with the skeleton on her baby, they reconstructed her face, such a sad thing to see. Later on in years a Manor house was built here, and Brighton race course was formed, the house is no longer here but the race course is and the wind apple trees are probably from the old Manor house orchard. You can find out so much about local history and its easy to visit. If you ever visit London you must go to the Tower, Anne Boleyns grave is there, there's a sadness about it, she was definitely stitched up. Over the river is Greenwich and the Queens Palace, most people visit Hampton Court for the connection to the Tudors. Hever Castle in Kent is Anne Boleyns childhood home, it's beautiful!

Too funny you said that about the coat. At first I thought is this a 60s, 70s, 1970s jacket. I wasn't sure. It was funny. It does remind me of like a pimp jacket and hat from the sixties and seventies :)(: hehehe

Ron and Justine i have been binge watching all of your videos. I have to be honest i accidentally stumbled upon your other channel a few weeks ago. It was FATE i was listening to my 80's hair band in the shower then it somehow went to your channel 😅 im so thankful it did bc you 2 are my absolute most favorite channel. Ive always been very interested in early American periods. I also have webt to a few colonial places. My history sucks lol im also obsessed with Gettysburg ive been a few times. I would love to meet you both but sadly im in western NY. But it looks like where you 2 live i have a whole bunch of wild life i feed and 2 🦝🦝 ive raised up. Now on to the important thing that made me actually get my nerve up to comment here. JUSTINE YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS DONT COMPARE YOURSELF TO THE OTHER WOMEN YOU AND RON were talking about bc you are stunning. You remind me of my daughter Gabby she is 23. I wish you and Ron all the best and a happy marriage ❤ i cant wait to see your beautiful life unfold. Also the house is really coming along how wonderful!!!!! Ok its my turn to eat now lol and watch the rest of this video

I started watching Early American about 7 months ago. I started watching when the video when Justine and Ron was first met. The video title "How to get a Man" I am so fascinated about early times in History especially about Cooking and traditions and customs of that time. The conversations between the two are purely innocent and refreshing. I really wish that we still had some of these customs and traditions today as we have gotten so far away from decency and honesty in these times.

I’ve been thinking about that egg box and what I’d use it for…. It’s far too small for storing all your fresh eggs (unless you’ve got less chickens than I’ve got, or eat them really fast 😂), but I was thinking maybe it was to hold eggs while they cool after being hard boiled? Seems unnecessary though so probably not. My best guess is that it was for holding eggs while you paint or dye them, perhaps eggs that were blown, maybe the caddy underneath let you set down paintbrushes or held paint and supplies? I’ve had a lot of fun thinking about such an object. 😋 Dinner looks delicious, as usual!

Love your videos. I’ve always loved history and it came alive to me when I researched family history. My Mom was a Hudson related to Captain Henry Hudson who discovered Hudson Bay and lost his and one of his son’s life when his crew mutinied & stranded them in the new world. Another Hudson ancestor was a guide to Frances Marion (Swamp Fox) & troops that led them to the last major battle against the British that ended their hold on the South. He is buried in Arkansas because after the Revolutionary War he moved his family from South Carolina further West. My Mom’s family migrated to Central TEXAS in 1857 and settled on the Colorado River West of Austin. Just wanted you to know why I’m interested in your videos. Keep up the good re-enactments to teach people their awesome American History because most public schools are trying to destroy our history or guilt us in their false narratives. It is good to see young Americans that treasure our history warts and all.
