So are you two a “real” couple? Not just for the sake of re-introducing the world to Early America and the ways of everyday life but a legitimate couple? I really hope you are because I’ve already fallen in love with your courtship and journey through life together not just as a portrayal of the period but as a real-life today couple! Give this girl some hope! 😂❤️

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you guys! And I love the "fireside chat" idea here for everyone instead of Patreon. While I completely understand the reasons for Patreon and "VIP-style" clubs, etc... Not everyone can easily do it and miss out on some of the best content. I truly appreciate you guys offering that level of content for those who maybe cannot join Patreons and other exclusives. SO AWESOME! And those gingerbread cookies look awesome! My fave is probably Snickerdoodle or just plain old sugar cookies, but gingerbread is in the top 3 for me!

I think You Guys are AWESOME : ) :) :) I was taught that the family slept in the barn while the house was being built . Barns were built first so that they family could protect their livestock and then they would eventually move into the house when it ready for your family ,......And there must be a Water Spring on the property for animals and cooking and cleaning . The water supply was the most important point in considering where to break ground !!!

I have a cookie iron from the 1800's from Belgium that was my great grandmothers (I am in my 60's). As far as sleeping outside, if you think about southern houses they would have the wide porches and they were used as sleeping porches. Now the baskets that you used for drying the ginger, grandma used to use baskets that had a tighter weave and then dry her veggies outside. the baskets had a lid that attached and it was lined with a flour sack cloth to keep bugs off of them. and they would be hung from the clothes line so the heat would dry the veggies. I am building (or trying to) a new system to air dry for next summer as my previous one got to old to use anymore.

You guys have such an amazing place. Whenever I see ya’ll I think about an old sad iron that my grandmother passed down to me, it’s dated mid 1700’s - early 1800’s and it’s such a treasure. Also I have become obsessed with collecting red Transferware like your two pieces usually displayed! Totally addicted to antiques. The coffee mug thing got to me because it’s also something great to collect, especially stoneware things in my opinion hahahah. You’d thoroughly enjoy my late grandmas early cookbooks. Many from the 30’s-40’s but they are so fragile. The whole aesthetic of y’all bring SUCH joy and peace throughout this platform. Love from Coastal Georgia! 🇺🇸
