Long live Russ Ballard (former Argent) and Phil Collins! They respectively wrote and produced the song. Phil drums on the 1982 Frida-version too. This sounds nice too. They didn't alter too much on the drum part here. A wise decision indeed. That makes this version again a haunting song, just as 34 years ago.

Velocity4000fps I have to be honest. I had never heard of Jorn until I stumbled across his cover of "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple, which is one of my favorite rock tunes of all time. I was blown away. The guy has an amazing voice. I don't know how old he is, but if he could have hooked on with Black Sabbath or some other hit band in the 70-80's, we would be talking about Dio and Jorn in the same breath because he's THAT GOOD. I'm beyond impressed.

I'm SO glad this song is ALIVE! I was 12 years old in 1982, after ABBA was over, and this song started playing on the radio, and nobody but ABBA fans even knew who Frida was! I always loved the bass and rhythm guitar parts of this song, and this dude's voice really turned up the juice on what's being said in the lyrics. Always a good song no matter how you cut it.

My wish list for 80's pop songs to be covered in a Heavy Metal style is almost complete. Firewind has done Maniac, Primal Fear has done If Looks Could Kill, and Jorn Lande has done I Know There's Something Going On. The last song on my wish list is I Wear My Sunglasses At Night. One Hard Rock band has covered it but it still sounds too close to the original. I want a Heavy Metal version of it with more aggression. Hopefully it will happen soon.

That is so funny. I downloaded the original awhile back, and thought the same thing, and not more than a couple of days later I found this. Fate! The beat, and the riff just had that metal feel if it was just upped a few notches with a male singer, or even, a good metal female singer, Either way it kicks ass. Hell, I'm not a Journey fan unless you count their first couple of albums before Steve Perry, and I love Jorn's version of "Don't Stop Believing" He makes it all sound good.
