She is 18 here. The first guy, his wife is a world-renowned Soprano and I can't remember her name to save my life. But for him to say such things they know how special she is. You two need to find her about her first years of being alive. I think at one time her mother either tried to set her on fire as toddler, or tried to choke her to death. Then she was left on the street in the dead of winter and finally was put in an orphanage. I might not be correct with the specifics but the level of abuse was staggering. Then to come out the other end as a cheerful human being is remarkable to me. Diana has a regular singing voice which is very lovely, but it is her back of the throat that is hers alone. She has worked very hard to produce that sound quality even into her head-voice range the she deserves all the praise and success she is getting. She sings a song called 'The River' or 'Rechenka' I think I'll find the link that is wild. I think the one I'm thinking of she did for another contest show when she was 16. This is a singing competition where the singers are also the judges. I think it's obvious that some of them had never heard Diana sing before. The first time you hear her sing, it takes your brain a little time to process it and figure out what you are hearing.

She has what is called polyphonic overtones that can actually do two tones at once. She also is a rare contralto like Cher but way more range and power. Very special lady with a triumphant life story. These other comments know what they are talking about on other songs to watch. That first judge is a world class opera tenor and is hard to impress.

Then, some of the older generation were like, "Yeah, she'll be maybe the new Amanda Lear, she'll be interesting with her low voice, but in time it will go down in history. Diana, however, began to juggle with the octaves, gifting us with a dozen different voices and above all with her unique polyphony and clearly distinguishable overtones. Adding the huge soul, bright character, kindness, artistry and talent of a creator of poems and music, it is logical to have a planetary Dianomania. It will not be a temporary phenomenon! Everyone sings, but one of the judges is special. The one who most vividly appreciated Diana's voice. The one who was standing listening to the song. He is an opera singer who is considered one of the best voices in the world. His name is Yusuf Eyvazov. He is a dramatic tenor, the husband of the great opera star of our time, Anna Netrebko. Yusuf is welcome at all the best opera venues in the world, where the best of the best voices of the world sing, on such stages as the Mariinsky Theater, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, the Bolshoi Theater, the Paris National Opera and others. Who, if not he, can appreciate the voice? And he, at the end of Diana's performance, was crying. It's worth a lot. This is worth more than the opinions of millions of reactors and judges.

Diana Ankudinova can definitely be placed among the top singers in the world. With this performance at the age of 18, she redefined what a teenage girl could do and shocked both her fellow contestants and millions of viewers from around the world. She has an article on English Wikipedia that you can read to learn about her- just Google her name and it’ll pop up. For context, this show ran for 9 weeks in late 2021. All the contestants were well-established singers who had won some earlier singing contest, Diana being the youngest of them. Each weekend an episode was released and the singers performed in 9 different genres. The first 3 of Diana’s performances can be found copyright-free on her KZbin channel. The references to “VR technology” in the commentary are because this technology was actually used for the stage during the performance. Audience members got to experience it in person, which must’ve been an interesting experience. Spoiler alert: she won the show! One more thing- the bulk of Diana’s fans are Russian. Ah - you've found the wonderful unique Diana! She is a rare Contralto voice (the lowest fm register) but can go a lot higher - as you heard. She also has what some describe as a Polyphonic (doubled - or more!) tone. The guy who stood up was a judge on this show, and is a very well known Russian opera singer. He was very much intent on advising her to get the best possible vocal training in order to protect and extend properly this unique voice. Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to write for Dimash's voice, who was a judge where she performed her cover of 'Wicked Game', has also recognised the need to mentor this talent and he made sure that she and her family could move to access the best vocal academy. Diana is now 19 and is continuing her vocal and musical studies and exploring across a number of genres and also composing some of her own music. . This IS a career to watch. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on KZbin. Welcome to the world of Diana Ankudinova! For you and all those in your audience that may or may not know, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old, and she was the final performer during this first season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. Diana Ankudinova’s cover of the Elvis Presley classic Can't Help Falling In Love, demonstrates Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals are saying is a true contralto voice type and a contralto is the lowest female voice and is very, very rare. Now, the vocal range helps in defining a female singer's voice type, and in 2017, at 13, Dianas' vocal range measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, which is good for a 13-year-old girl. Diana has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and this lack kept her out of the more prestigious music academies. Diana, along with her vocal teacher decided to work extensively on developing a higher vocal range. In September of 2021, at age 18, her vocal range was again measured during this performance. Now her functional vocal range goes from a low of C3 to a high of Bb5, almost 3-octaves. During this performance, her upper range improvement is now on full display for all to hear. It is not just about how low she can go, it is the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower range. It is in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, plus her ability to access, and use an enormous amount of resonance. Dianas' ability to use this resonance helps to further define Diana as a dramatic contralto, the rarest of the rare contralto voice types, and a dramatic contralto is the deepest, darkest, most powerful contralto voice type. At the beginning of this performance, you hear her deep contralto sound. Near the end of this performance, the power of her dramatic contralto voice is on full display for all to hear. The question people ask? How does Diana do it? How can such a young female singer achieve these low, rich, deep, profound sounds? But, without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is actually producing these low notes to see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness is simply attributing Dianas' ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx appears to be larger and with her voice teacher, she has learned to lower her larynx, helping her achieve lower sounds. Her pharynx similarly looks to be longer than the majority of female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity. When you combine all these unique vocal anatomy highlights, it gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sound she is known for. But without actually scoping her vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure. Diana is also a master at using a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing, an extraordinary accomplishment for someone so young. A singer that has mastered this polyphonic singing technique can create one and up to two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. Diana was also competing against other professional singers who were also judges. This new vocal competition was televised over a nine-week period, one episode per week with the other judges/professional singers competing against each other, and based on their individual performance the judges awarded judging points to each other, and when not competing, Diana was also a member of this judging panel. Every week, each singer took the stage and performed a different song. Each contestant was required to sing from a different genre using different styles. The ShowMaskGoOn concluded on November 20, 2021, and during Diana's performance, the judge on the top row, the first to stand, is a well-known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, that was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this competition. So happy you're watching the judges / fellow contestants comments (All pros competing in different genres for 9wks). She's 19 now, 18 here. 15 for Wicked Game, 14 for Rechenka, from "You Are Super" competition for abused / underprivileged children, largely underwritten by Igor Krutoy, famous Russian composer who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor later bought an apartment in Moscow for Diana's family and secured a spot at university to continue high-level training. Rechenka (little river) is comprised of Russian folk tales about an orphan who is being given away in marriage to the unloved, and who comes to the rive,r border between the living and the dead, to ask blessings from her deceased mother. More poignant considering Diana's backstory: beaten and abused by her birth mother, abandoned at a bus stop in winter with a broken collarbone, brought to an orphanage speechless at 3, took singing lessons as speech therapy, and adopted by a loving family. You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for a while. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Wicked Games”, “Take On Me”, "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. There is a circle of fans and you have found half of them Dimash from Kazakhstan and now Diana from Russia. There is also Daneliya Tuleshova - Young pop singer (STAR) from Kazakhstan (now U.S.A.) and Angelina Jordan - from Norway (now U.S.A.). Probably the BEST talent today. (WARNING: This girl is addictive, and you will get HOOKED!)

Thank you for your honest reaction. ( i think is pronounced Dee-anna, was 18 for this amazing performance.) Diana, singing 'Rechenka' is one of my favourites from this wonderful performer, is in Russian but do not need lyrics to experience the emotions portrayed. Diana is apparently a 'dramatic contralto' who can also yodel and can produce polyphonic overtones. So glad you watched the judges comments -- very insightful ( apart from the shared delusion re divine assistance. her abilities, skill, commitment, intensity and professionalism are all her own work. -- the invisible non existent entity in the sky has nothing do with anything and has never, EVER been shown to exist. Thousands of years of lies. )

Well, you fell into a deep rabbit hole. The last I read, Diana now has over 4 octave range. Her voice is beyond classification. Most comfortable range is Contralto (lowest and rarest female voice type) yet she sings soprano as well. Blessed with extraordinary physical gifts for singing ( longer thicker vocal cords, larger longer lyrenx and exceptional harmonic overtones/ undertones and resonators. Sings almost every genre of music from opera to rap. I appreciate the Era and time that a person from halfway around the world can listen to this exceptional young talented Lady. Bravo Diana.
