I love Petrucci and Satriani. Satriani can write tens of mind boggling songs, more than Petrucci can. But I don't think Satriani would be able to come up with something like this monster of an improvised Glasgow Kiss solo.

JP and MP are no doubt the legends but the bass player is equally killing it. The way it doesn't sound empty between guitar and drums is because this guy is filling that space with some really nice basslines. crazy!!

I have his solo stuff and have seen him live many times, mostly with Satriani. He is another incredibly talented bassist who doesn’t get enough recognition.

Each times I come back to listen to this song it manages to give me chills. John Petrucci is something else on the guitar, a true maestro at work. The sound of that guitar solo is just incredibly clean and stricking. 👌

@@frontrowmusic The exercise isn't that hard. The string skipping alternate picking he does at the beginning is very simple if you're somewhat skilled in guitar, take it slow and it's fine. The hardest part strangely is remembering the massive amount of song in between
