We saw some pretty big ward and DR nerfs in 1.1 but otherwise are untouched. With the meta probably being more focused on speed rather than high corruption in 1.1, the loss of defense might not be a big deal.

would be interesting to see beacuse this is also a fairly boss centric cycle, so the lost to a larger ward pool can be a killer.

Running numbers and shatterstrike is probably going to be a great boss buster this patch. It was already a decent(500c) build. But it has multiple sources of new multipliers. Based on my math there is a frostbite shatter strike build that should be S tier. Don’t let the nerf to the cold pen boots phase you guys, frostbite shatterstrike is going to slap super hard. Overall buffed by a lot.

Yea spellblade has some nice stuff, the flat crit per int is huge along with all the ward on hit that runemaster lost. Some DR too and a new FC node

Thanks a lot for the great work and effort spend. Do you already know what you will start with? Could you maybe also create a looftilter for us on your starter where we can toggle of some parts for later gamer or on for early aswell as needed items ro lvl alts? Would be awesome.

It is quite strict so you may want to change some T7 only stuff to include T6 or maybe T5 - will look to add a more reasonable one in the next couple days

@FrozenSentinel Im going to play this build and pair with paladin support, do you think can it reach to 2k+ corruption? Or its not worth to reach too high since at your statistic higher corruption doesnt affect too much on drop rate LPs.

Probably not worth, I just put a video up going over the exact corruption vs favor math. Your goal will be to farm 1k corruption as fast as possible

ty for posting this... i've always preferred the cold variation of fc build not lightning. since spark of celerity is now going to be crucial for that mana efficiency (in 1.1) do you think the cold variation build is not going to be viable anymore? i always liked the fact that you can just freeze anything, even the bosses (without relying on snap freeze)

Spark of celerity is not strictly "mandatory", you could build around not using it. I am not sure if the cold one still works though, there were changes to freeze and stuff anyway iirc that much also make it weaker. I did not play the cold FC build though so can't really comment with certainty

Working with @Dr3adful to put one together, in the meantime I would suggest grabbing any mage leveling guide and look to transition to this around level 60 or 70. Ideally you want to have Fragment of Enigma for this to come online, but you likely could make it work earlier.

@@FrozenSentinel I'm also looking for a leveling approach to this build. Id rather not start off with some other build as the transition could not feel good because we dont know how well the build should perform at the transition stage vs what ever leveling build we choose to run.

@@vindicit8924 it's hard to level with this build specifically because the damage scaling comes from Fragment of Enigma which is a unique you need to find. Twisted Heart is also important but not mandatory, dropping from a boss with an 80 level req. You also probably want some int on gear which you may not have right away.

This makes me really happy because I also play Diablo 4 and the Sorc class over there is kind of bottom tier. So if I can make another Frostclaw Runemaster in 1.1 I'll be a happy camper.

@@SpudNug69 no, it's not? are you guys even playing d4? there is one firebolt build, which is extremly boring to play and requires extremly good gear, that can deal with high pits. frozen orb, blizzard and let's not even talk about lightning builds, perform like 30 pit tiers worse than a barb or rogue. every somewhat professional d4 content creator would agree with russeljackson's message.

Losing volley of glass makes the non spark charge versions of the build unplayable against single target. I haven't played the spark charge version but if it can sustain great single target dps without volley, holy cow that seems busted

Tbh I am not entirely sure yet. Last time I leveled with random other stuff like Nova, Lightning Blast, Fireball, etc. until like 80 then swapped into this build while already having gear. The thing about attribute stackers is that you probably want to swap into it once you have a certain number of pieces of gear / character levels. Before that it may help to follow a generic mage leveling guide

I will try to do that if I have time before launch, I would need to level with the build as I haven't done it before. If not I think any mage leveling guide should work, you probably want to transition to this around level 80 and when you have fragment of enigma, otherwise it might not feel good.

I'd suggest going with Frost Claw Sorc in 1.1 now, it seems to be the better choice with all the mage changes - working on my guide for that, should be ready today

Weaker for sure, but we still have hundreds of ward per second - with 1.1 it seems like there isn't much incentive to push beyond 1k corruption and I don't see this build having that much issue with 1K when well geared. We don't need 60k ward for 1K

@@wojciechgiza9277 so it has to do with gear. there are some pieces of gear in the game that are like 80 legendary potencial. the odds of getting LP on said gear on 1000 corruption is almost 0 or very little. that is why 5000 corruption builds are a thing. they're specifically designed to get those 80 LP items that are normally almost impossible to roll. So until last epoch changes that whole LP legendary potencial, high corruption builds are neccassary for simple fact to roll high LP items with high LP potencial. In the future, they might change this but for now, it is what it is.

@@wojciechgiza9277 well the thing is, action rpg thrive of rarity, the whole idea is, "finding that SUPER RARE item" that no one else has. the problem is that when you make item so rare that it is impossible to get, it forces extreme gameplay's to optimize high chance to get said item. a possible way to fix this is to invent something called favourite system. The idea is that you can favourite an item. a favourite item has higher % chance to drop and has higher LP rarity. The downside is that this item if dropped cannot be traded. so for example if you want 4 LP twisted heart of uhkeros, you can favourite this item and you have MUCH higher odds to get it but.... it only works for you. This allows you to fish for builds YOU want to play but doesn't affect anyone else. the % chance to drop would still be low like 2% but 2% is better than 0.0000001%. this is type of problem that you end up dealing with in ARPG. The player wanted over-scale a mechanic a resource(Like gold or Item rarity) to make ambiguous builds.
