I enjoyed the fight, and I agree that Sega needs to make Sonic a bit stronger, or at least calculate it with his speed. He’s actually getting there. In the past, Sonic needed to be Super Sonic to take down Perfect Chaos, but Generations shows Sonic capable of beating Perfect Chaos with his own power. As for his speed with boost, his boost is part of his top speed. Without it, Sonic would only be half as fast, or less. As for Speed/Time break, Sonic used the world rings to achieve this without Shara. A good attention to detail I love. Did you notice Sonic got out of the water with an Aqua shield in seconds? That’s because Generations allowed Sonic to stockpile a shield before entering a zone. And they say Screwattack doesn’t do their research.

In the podcast they said it's never shown what happened during those days in Advance, it just said a "few day later" and showed him in Super form, but nothing implies or mentions that he was like that during those days. As for being transformed in electricity, he was able to efficiently go through complex paths, Cappy was just to allow him to move as lightning. Actually in the podcast they clarified that they didn't measure Mario's movement speed, but his reactions.

Fun Fact: I found the footage of the hedgehog and fox at 9:28. The reason they didn't show what happens next...was because the fox DIDN'T eat the hedgehog. The hedgehog curled up into a ball and the fox just looked at it. It soon went away and the hedgehog moved on like nothing happened.

A fun reaction as always ^^ I think the reason they didn't mention Time Break or Speed Break is because to do it on his own, he needs to be Darkspine Sonic (which requires the negative emotion World Rings, which are in the alternate world of the Arabian Nights. And as we know, Sonic can't access that world on his own), while to do it without Darkspine, he needs Shara (which constitutes outside help). As for the Super Sonic lasting a week thing, we've never seen Hyper Sonic be able to last that long in canon. Even assuming he could, Mario's Bottomless Gloves gives him infinites uses of the Star, Rainbow Star and Metal Cap, which will allow him to outlast Hyper Sonic. And even if Hyper Sonic figures that out and removes those three power-ups from Mario, Mario has the Retry Clock, so he can restart the fight and then possibly insta-kill Sonic with the Gold Flower. I think one way I can see Sonic winning is if he somehow managed to pull Mario into the Arabian Nights and turns Darkspine, as that form did have the power to alter reality.

They made a solid point in regards to classic Platform Protagonist stats. Most icons of platform gaming could take a beating. That was shown in Crash's fight with Spyro. Mario has taken hard beatings and his powerups not only bolster his health, but recover it when activated. Sonic normally needs rings on hand to tank hits, otherwise he speeds up to score quick hits and evade. That battle style doesn't help in a Death Battle.

Amy has speed, able to keep up with tails but not at Sonic's Levels, it's just the Game developer made her his in 06 which is not part of the Timeline, In 06 they made everyone slow. Amy had Speed in Advance series and in Heroes and was able to follow Sonic in the CD Silver's new life and new timeline in the Rivals Series, he has Super running Speed and can boost by flying, shown in Rivals, and Generations and even in Forces when he hold his one against Infinite

Even if Mario is stronger with His Power ups, doesn't mean he is completely involnurable to Sonic's attaks, he can be killed by simple koopas as its shown in The game of he is caught of guard, Sonic as well of he is caught of guard in His own game. There for either of them can kill The other of he catched him of guard and The only one that can catch The other of guard is The FASTER one and The os Sonic. No mater how stronger Mario might be, he is clearly much slower and can't even see Sonic when he moves, His to fast for him, screwattack screw this rematch battle big time for The deprresed Mario fans.

Like in Naruto were Sasuke fought Rock Lee, and with his sharingan he could see where Lee would attack before doing it, but since his body wasn't fast enough, he could not doge Lee's attacks, Same would go here, not to mention here we have a much bigger difference in speed.

What you're saying is like saying that a joke character's feat isn't valid because is too cartoonish, when the character itself is already cartoonish. The reason Mario doesn't trash his oppenents is because he is always against someone who can match him. Bowser, Wario, Donkey Kong, etc., the list goes on. While you can let the enemies kill you (which the actual character would never do by the way), you can also pass the entire level without being damaged. In VS debates, is invalid, practically forbidden, to use things like "minions killing the character because the player let them".

Actually this fight was re-analysis (or a reboot) of the original fight, not a rematch but I see where you are saying. Also, Super Sonic alone did not defeat Solaris and Time Eater. With the former, he had help from Super Shadow and Super Silver. While the latter, Super Sonic was aided by Classic Super Sonic. Some Sonic games just seemed overlooked. But, if you look at the enemy and Mario as a lightning bolt he has blue eyes. Think of Cappy as a battery and Mario as the one who uses the remote. Cappy can’t do all the work, he simply holds on to his captured enemy while Mario does all the work. Making Mario moving efficiently as a lighting bolt mostly by himself understandable.

I can't really see Basic Sonic beating Ultimate Emerl, with ALL of his own powers and those of his allies combined with the power of the Chaos Emeralds as anything but an outlier. Not only does it go against the Chaos Emeralds granting invulnerability, but Sonic has never shown that power anywhere else without the Chaos Emeralds themselves, especially considering that if his Base form was indeed that powerful then battles against foes like Shadow, Silver and Knuckles shouldn't last more than a few seconds at best. As for the whole Cappy turning him into electricity, here's what they were getting at: Imagine yourself in a car constantly driving, and the brake is (in)conveniently broken and cannot stop, like Mario's electric form. BloodStalker 500 You can't just say sonic doesn't have the ability to beat Emerl because he only did it in one game. By that logic Mario can't pick up a castle because we only saw him do it in one game and Mario has a hard time lifting Bowser, King Bomb and cant even lift Birdo in Super Mario Bros 2, but somehow he can easily pick up a castle in Mario World.

That's different. As pointed out in the video, Mario did the exact same thing in the manga, and is in line with him being able to battle and defeat Bowser time and time again who's also survived castles falling on top of him on more than one occasion. Sonic, on the other hand, still has some difficulty defeating Shadow and Knuckles in their base forms when he should be able to curbstomp them in seconds if his power level at base really is above that of Ultimate Emerl.

@Semaj Hogue Actually, that's wrong. There IS *NO* Mario canon at all, and we only know regular Mario and Paper Mario are different *solely* because of Paper Jam revealing them as different characters. Don't blame me, blame whoever decided to make Mario continuity so ridiculous.

No, it's not easy, there is no canon to figure out *if there's no canon to begin with* which is the main problem for this fight. For all we know, Mario Party games take place one after another, a day after games take place in the main series or few and far in-between. While stuff like Toad being comparable to DK and Bowser and outswimming a black are still game mechanics, there are genuine feats like Mario reacting to the +FTL Fake Millenium Star are technically part of the plot rather than game mechanics. We can't just say "Oh, Mario Party series isn't canon" because there literally is *zero* canon at all to compare it with, it'd be like saying Super Mario Galaxy and Odyssey aren't canon, there's no way to say for sure since technically nothing is canon at all in this series. It's one retcon, but it's incredibly impactful whether we like it or not, and trust me when I tell you that Mario fans dislike it more than Sonic fans in this particular debate.

Game Sonic is more free and is a traveler who like to see the world, he like to relax and gets stronger in every adventure he takes. He is 15 years old. He is never interested in romance at all, he feels like having a girlfriend would slow him down and restrain him, he would rather be running to new adventure and no one telling what to do, he never gives up and never cries, he like to move forward and help others in need. He is always calm and never to get to angry, he likes to learn about his enemies attacks and learn how to beat his enemies. He is also forgiving willing to see the goodness in others. Sonic has a powerful strong will, so he is not easy to control or corrupted by evil, he is truly pure of heart. He uses Japanese martial arts mix with Break dance in his fighting style. He loves nature and doesn’t want the beauty of Nature to be damaged. Archie Sonic or Mobius timeline, he is more cocky then his Game counterpart, he is 17 years old. He would mock his victory in his friends faces, but tones it down, he’s been acting more of a jerk and can get angry easily then his Game counterpart. He has shown to cry, and even given up before, and he is interested in having a girlfriend. He is not easy to trust some people but does see good in others, he doesn’t focus much on learning about his enemies attack he just rushes in without thinking we’re he gets his butt kicked a lot more this his Game counterparts but somehow wins or loses. He has shown to have a weak will where is been controlled by Robotnik but has shown to fight it off. He uses Shadow boxing and normal hand to hand combat skills. He cares about nature be is not afraid to cause destruction to to take down the enemies or he sometimes fail to save nature from Robotnik. Both Sonics use their speed to their advantage, Mobius Sonic never learned the Homing Attack or the Boost. Both are willing to help others as much as they can and both do what they can to stop Eggman/Robotnik.
