Everything you said was great and made sense but you can’t really fault it for needing to be full for casting because it isn’t meant for that, strictly an ice reel, you could use it on a ultra light for pan fish in the summer though 11:14

40$ is bananas. The coolest feature to me is how light it is. Idk if all ice fishing reels are like that but still. Would love to see them make some 2000-3000 sizes

Didn't frostbite change the carbon drag washer out this year since there's too many complaints of sticky drag? I thought this year's diesel is using felt drag washer.

the 2000 size reel is the same way, thge spools are not made for casting.

I like these but feel the Shimano sienna is cheaper on sale and I feel a better reel. More solid feeling n holds more line. No issues with lower spool casting. Lil heavier but worth it in my opinion. I do think frostbite does a good job improving things so I'm anxious to see what the new ones do.
