Hello, your configuration "Let Windows apps run in the background" does not disable the background apps, it determines whether a user is allowed to disable the background apps or not. Not configured and disabled are the same thing. Please read the help field. The hardware acceleration in your browser has nothing to do with the ping, it is for the interaction between CPU and GPU. The configuration on the Windows firewall also does not affect the ping, either the ping (icmp) is allowed or blocked but nothing in between. Please do not deactivate the "Windows Update Service". This is not necessary, firstly Windows updates can be scheduled when they are executed, secondly Windows is intelligent enough to realise that you are playing a game and will generally not execute any updates during this time. You can deactivate the "Windows Update Service", but I think that many users will forget to reactivate it and therefore no more updates will be installed. Determining the speed of a DNS server based on a ping is absurd, a ping does not include the actual DNS query, so nothing can be said about the speed. DNS is used for name resolution (DNS lookup) and has absolutely nothing to do with your ping. Deactivating the power management of the network card does absolutely nothing while you are playing. The advanced settings on the network card also do nothing to your ping and are intended for "Wake on LAN". The "TCP Optimiser" tool also does nothing, these settings are for the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), ping uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) for pinging and games (client-server) usually use the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). To summarise, your settings have no effect on your ping.

when i pinged the dns my ping recorded 10ms, 109ms, 115ms, and 9ms. This is similar what happens to me in games where I deal with the same spikes in ping. Any suggestions on how to fix?

@@kevin3452 The ping to the DNS server or to the game server have nothing to do with each other, you always have to look at them separately. Spikes are generally completely normal, but from 09ms to 115ms is quite unusual. Test the ping from your PC to your router and see if you also have such high times there, if so, then the problem is in your local network. Make sure that others in your household are not downloading anything or streaming movies. Test between wifi and wireless to see if there are any differences. Test the ping on different days and times of the week to see if there are any differences. Ask your internet service provider if there are any disruptions. Ask your internet service provider if your internet is a shared medium, in Germany, for example, the cable connection is a shared medium for the whole house.
