In this episode, let's test out another way of alternative living! We first sailed away from Australia back in July 2017, since then we have sailed many miles and visited many countries, however upon returning to Australia to visit family, we realised we had not explored the east coast of our own backyard. What better way to explore Australia than in our very own campervan!
Befre we lived on our sailboat Nandji, we lived in a bus called FROTH and travelled around Australia, living the vanlife ways. Now after 5 years of sailing, it was a great experience to come back to our homeland and give the van life way of life another go!

Holy cow! I can't get over Bonita's figure, especially after having a baby. She has a perfect body. And this is from a 57 year old lady! I live in New Orleans, and I am shocked every time I go to the grocery store. The prices increase every visit.

I've binged your channel to this point. Gotta comment on the Electric / Gas discussion. For me gas is fantastic - I run a fridge, grill, cookers and heat on a 25lb bottle for a whole month saving the lithium / solar for the things that matter (inverter, electronics, pumps, jacks etc ..) Gas / Propane is soooo efficient and allows options if the electric fails. I dont see the safety issue with modern gas connections and appliances. Just check all the lines regularly. Worth it.

Loved watching this episode. I haven't been to Byron since 1990. Camped on the beach in the panel van in 87 too...the original van life hay on way around Aus. Just after Delvene and Hoges built the big resort bar on the beach , we all though it so out of place - but they had a vision and look at it now. Way too busy and $$ for me though. Good one guys. Nice to have an expensive van to travel in, dispite the electrical problems.

Gas and induction. I'm all about redundancy. In side cooker and a grill out side. I live in a house without gas but have a charcoal grill outside no gas grill yet. I also have a brick fireplace, unfortunately it doesn't heat the house very well.

Nobody else would have any idea how to fix it, even temporarily! I’m glad you did this one , I had been looking at small numbers pull type campers and never even considered a van! What’s nice is that it doesn’t look like a “camper” and unless something was out, I don’t think it would tempt anyone to break in while it was parked.

Gas. For really good control. induction still needs huge batteries. and huge charging systems.

good to see you're still mobile! ...and what a happy baby (I'm sure she has her moments though). I have induction at my wheel-less house and would never go back to gas. In fact we worked hard to create an all-electric home (which will be the future everywhere, since gas is SO destructive - in drilling, and air quality issues). Thanks for sharing a different way of life than what we all know you by.

I have induction in my Van and on my boat. Also went electric motor on sail boat. Sold boat(mono-hull) and looking for a Dragonfly trimaran to do the same to. Just akes planning and you never have to hunt up gas or worry about fire again..

I have my caravan set up just like a sail boat. trust me it works better! Gas for cooking and heating, full solar for all the rest. shore power for aircon. Generator for backup of it all.

beautiful places you go : ) having big doors exposed to the wind and not a lot of space when the doors are closed,induction looks more effective to me. and safer.There is always the risk of a potential gas leak. A small gas grill BBQ would be nice as additional gadget.or one for wood.

I am with Bonita on the stove issue, I have gas and everything in the kitchen has to be cleaned constantly because every surface can get really sticky from the gas!

Get one of those $20 portable camper cookers with disposable cartridges. u can cook outside. Cheap. Throw away when done.

Gas is the way to go instant heat , You can buy a portable gas cooker from Bunnings for around $25 $30 can you just put gas cylinders in the side they work very well

2 things. The Nudy Beach at Byron & 2nd do yourself a favour & drive up to Nimbin. That's Hippy. At Easter they have a parade there & the locals walk through the town handing out wacky backy to all the spectators. It's also possible to stay in a American Indian tent for the night. Should still be there.

I think it was early last year in was on the news a French lady on a mono hull was docked at a marina in Brisbane and went to cook dinner on her gas stove and literally blew the deck off her boat , she survived somehow. Induction all the way in my opinion

Bonita, Many ppl find those macramaed fruit baskets usesless bc they smash the fruit against the wall or fall apart easily. Many ppl change them up for black wire baskets that you bolt into the wall so the fruit stays put. Available at Amazon & other stores. Are you renting the van or do you own it?
