This always blows my mind. I've been doing game development for the past 4 years, mainly programming them. I am completely self taught and have led small teams before, so in an effort to understand what it takes, I did everything from programming to animation and it just blows my mind how talented these animators are. I have seriously lost count of how many times I've watched Frozen, and the last few times I watched it I REALLY paid attention to the animation, especially facial expressions, eye contact, the tiniest things. I paid special attention to characters in scenes where the focus is clearly going to be anywhere else but on them, and the detail in their posture, facial expressions, eye movement etc. is exquisite. I will forever be in awe of these people.

you are lucky if you can do that job for a living or if you love maybe. but me, I have been dreaming to be in animation industry since my 12th grade and now i am completely mess up with my graduation. If I were in any animation college I would have put my heart and soul and achieve something what I am worth of but now I don't know what I am doing. How did you came up to this level.

It takes alotttt of time to create animations and after watching the movie we just take a second and say "Waste of time / I don't like the movie" or stuff like that. It's not hard to make a animated movie :( these people who work hard, I just want to say "HATS OFF"

I mean the fact they work hard is commendable, but unfortunately it’s still possible to work hard on something and it still turns out bad. Inherently bad ideas, bad directing, poor framing, bad voice acting or music choice.... I mean just look at movies like Food Fight. Or any of the Cars sequels. Or the Good Dinosaur. A movie can have amazing aspects but still be an overall bad movie.

Actually modelling a Disney character is much easier than doing other concepts that involves hard-surface and details. Get some reference pictures, then start sculpting! You can use a free program called Blender (it also has a sculpting feature) or (if you feel saucy) purchase Pixologic's ZBrush.

I know it's been 2 months since your question. :) Animation studios like Pixar or WDAS mostly use Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution for it's massive 10/13 year commercial support. Also Autodesk Maya officially (still possible to run on Ubuntu/something, but a bit harder) supports only RHEL and it's derivatives like Fedora.
