i'm basically a tool user and was once told how to lubricate a watch . . . first: get a bottle of the finest light oil i can find . . . second: put the sealed bottle of oil in the same room as the watch, preferably as far away as i can get it . . . third: let the oil sit there overnight . . . last: take the watch and carefully transport it to an experienced watchmaker and have them do it!

Beautiful work as always. At first I thought you may have found a ‘correct’ case for the movement, but was pleased that you restored the existing case so nicely that instead of the case being a compromise, it just ended up being a custom watch that all looked just correct. And, perfect choice of strap. And loved how you managed to sneak the Ulysses cartoon theme tune in there too - that was one of my after school favourites as well!
