The really neat part of how Kristen sings this is you can see all of the process in her face from when they worked through all of the takes and it became a part of her. She brought all of herself and her aspirations for what a Disney princess should be to the creation of Anna, which is why that character is so beloved now. She made Anna "real."

The performances she gives singing these songs live are incredible and her voice is superb... I would pay to see her in a musical, I think she would be phenomenal. I completely agree with all of this. Honestly, it's not entirely Idina's fault either. Kristin is truly in her prime, and you can see how much she loves what she's doing, and how she knows what she's doing. Idina has all of this as well. But...unfortunately, she's just not quite in her prime anymore. She's has a lot left to live...but learning how to open up the gates isn't quite something she struggles with at this point I suspect. I really identify with Kristin in this song. Like...so much...

That's actually because disney has a certain criteria when it comes to disney princesses voices, that's why all their singer/voice actress have a certain disney flare to it, they pick people who can do it. But remember(because pretty sure you've heard of this since everyone was talking about it at one point) elsa wasnt originally supposed to be the main star nor a hero, she was supposed to be a villain like in the original story. They werent trying to meet a criteria with elsas voice, then they realise for whatever reason elsa was hard to redeem and changed everything then had to write songs for elsa to for that disney flare. But that disney flare isn't really suited for idina voice and I think the changes were so last minute(from what it seems) that they couldn't switch out her voice or anything so just kinda made idina sing songs that isnt suited for her voice.

She and Idina Menzel had both been passed over as Disney princesses/heroines multiple times before landing their roles. It's a matter of finding the best match, not just how well they act and sing, of course. The funny thing in this case, though, is that while the directors of _Tangled_ went with Mandy Moore for Rapunzel, they seemed to recognize that Kristen and Idina would be perfect for Anna and Elsa, respectively, and specifically referred them to the directors of _Frozen_ , who obviously concurred and hired them both (although they did audition hundreds of others, as usual). Sometimes the right roles just happen to come around, and it's so obvious that virtually everyone agrees.

This was forking awesome! Kristen Bell's voice is beautiful, and she's really talented. I'm not a huge fan of the movie, but her songs are the best, and the live version it's even better. Her acting , her expressions here, it's superb. Amazing! Also, there's an episode of Veronica Mars when she sings, just a verse (I think it one of the firsts of Season 3), and it's just perfect.

Kristen has a great voice she sounds just like the original and she acts it out perfectly in all her live songs. But Idina has a very powerful voice and has been in musicals, so it makes sense. People know her and her voice. I love Idina's Defying Gravity performance but not the musical version.

For me personally, Wicked has been my favorite musical since I was 13. I fell in love with Idina specially for that and hearing her other work. Now honestly, I never knew Kristen Bell was classically trained (i learned shortly before seeing frozen). But I think cause there are a lot of broadway/theater nuts. Also dont forget Idina's role in Rent.
