We now have roundabouts with 2 and 3 lanes, yet tight on circumference if you need to change lanrpes to reach desired exits you may have to circle a few times, i hate them!

Visit Milton Keynes in the UK to practice & google for magic roundabouts… they are much much safer, but Americans aren’t used to them so end up being really dangerous.

Dodged a bullet there Mark. They’re sticking roundabouts all over where I live in North Carolina. The reason for the expense in North Carolina is the land acquisition, and they are having to relocate a lot of utilities. The roundabouts require more lighting and signage, but, according to North Carolina Department of transportation, they are safer.

Roundabouts are just about everywhere in my town. They are planning on building 3 in a very high traffic and pedestrian area. The photo of it looks even more dangerous. It's not enough room for a school bus or a fire truck to make that turn. But never mind the 18 wheelers 🥴

Sit at red light for 5 minutes then its red again down the road. Roundabouts are smoother but they need to be adjusted too. Drivers and contruction workers are not used to them. They are safer because red light runners can't T bone you anymore. My nearby roundabout curbs were lowered so that 18 wheeler tires can jump the curbs as needed.

Sorry about the broken water pipe. That intersection would make a good peanut shape roundabout. They might want to relocate your driveway.

FYI, I had the same problem with one of my rentals. The home owners insurance covered everything only because we had heating for all the pipes, furnace inside the house and a heat lamp and a thermostat operated floor heater in the well pump house. We had 19 below temps for almost a week and the power was off for 6 days. Just because I had those things even though the power was off they paid the whole bill $3500) .

Sorry to hear, up side no tenants during incident! per ChatGPT, copper is less prone to breaking in cold winter: When comparing galvanized and copper pipes, water is more likely to freeze in a galvanized pipe than in a copper pipe because galvanized pipes are less able to expand and contract with temperature changes, making them more prone to bursting when water freezes inside them; whereas copper, while still susceptible to freezing.

Maybe part of the budget fall is caused by the over 250,000 illegal immigrants in Colorado. I believe they said it cost the state of Colorado almost $2 billion. And the budget shortfall I heard is around $700 million.
